Just purchased a 2018 TRD Sport Tacoma this week with 81k miles. Super stoked and got a relatively good deal on it. Sold my wife on it over most OR’s with all the interior options and long bed.

My primary goal with it was to have a good hunting rig and a nice daily driver combined. I couldn’t make the price jump into the pro trim, but it sounds like the only thing I’m missing out on is the suspension which would be huge for my hunting purposes.

Would love any/all input about suspension setups and suggestions to get it into the ultimate dual purpose rig. Or maybe people think the current suspension will do the job better than I think, cause it does feel a little stiff. Also I’d like to upgrade the tires when it’s time, so throw what you’re rolling with too

Leaving it stock will give you the best of both worlds. As soon as you start modding it to be better offroad, it'll be worse as a daily driver. Even changing your tires will lower your MPG, but would probably be the best mod eventually for better traction all around and more puncture resistant offroad. The truck will do well offroad as is, unless you are planning to do something hardcore. I'd use it as is until you run into an obstacle that needs overcome.

Bilsteins if you want to soften up the ride. And there are hundreds of AT tires in stock size to choose from.

Maybe take your Sport hunting and see how you like it. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it. If you want a softer ride, maybe look for Off Road suspension take-offs in the Marketplace (or aftermarket parts you desire) and then have fun Modding.

He better Long Travel it, and get a supercharger. And at least 34s. Otherwise, definitely can't drive it offroad.

    Nice truck!

TRD sport suspension is just fine offroad, unless you plan to drive fast. Its definitely on the stiffer side but the height and travel is no different from TRD Off-Road. If you remove front sway bar it will make a world of a difference off road, but you will see decreased performance on road.

FWIW im lifted 2" and removed my swaybar. No way Im putting it back on, it rides so nice. There is a bit more body roll in corners but I've never felt unsafe with it off.

I told my wife my tune cost me 80$... haha!

In reality it was like 600$ altogether with shipping, duties, conversion, dongle etc.
