Yesterday my overhead unit start making clicking sounds then my sunroof tilted up on its own and now the buttons don't work. Rough time for this to happen. Any help?

Fuse looked good. I couldn't see any visible damage to wires/connector in the overhead unit

Do you own a test light?
I feel like we can at least get it closed…..

    And maybe even diagnosed.

Are you pretty sure it’s an electrical type problem? My wife’s Corolla moonroof had the rubber side skirt rip and got jammed in the track (and would not close).

i don’t have a moonroof on my Tacoma so I don’t know if the design is similar.

He said it started clicking. Then just opened up on it's own.
Sounds like a switch issue to me....

I need to pull diagrams for OP.
Let me see what I can find.....

Probably gona need a scan tool to check things but wouldn't hurt to check power's and grounds at the module if it's accessible.
First thing I'd be looking for though is evidence of water leaks, plugged sunroof drains are very common and water does not play well with electronics.

    You beat me to it.

Isn't it nice how the motor is part of the ECU assembly?
Makes "forcing" it closed kind of "hard".

Yea I don't mess with sunroofs, most I do is clean the drains. Gotta remove the headliner to do pretty much anything with the mechanism.

There is a scan tool function to operate the motor but if the module is dead that won't help.
