The more wiring I uncover in my house, the more I want to strangle that electrician…

For me it was the previous homeowner lol. So many uncovered junction box, improperly grounded things, and best off all....piece of wire to short? Just wire nut two pieces together and tape the wire nuts and call it good.

We built this house, I told him each room is a ‘home run’… I should have told a rock. He also wired the Microwave from other receptacles. Microwaves are to be dedicated circuit

That would be wiring and plumbing in my house. They did some plumbing fuggery that caused a slight structural issue I gotta deal with when I gut my bathroom :goingcrazy:

Sounds like you’re describing cutting into a joist comprising it’s integrity to run some plumbing…

I use a Milwaukee at work and it seems to hold up to abuse in an industrial environment (and dropping off of platforms at time). I have a little 6' for belt tensioner measurements that I've had for years and a 25' for projects.

I was looking at the Dewalt Atomic, but some reviews said the tape begins to flake after a year.

I usually buy the cheapest thing I can find, but I bought a couple of Milwaukee tapes on BF. I was impressed with the quality. I got more than 11ft unsupported before the tape broke down.

    Awesome

This house is better than most I’ve bought and still too many 15A/14G circuits. Legal but lame.

In my experience, most if not all electricians will rough in a house convenient for them, not to code but convenient. They call an electrical inspector who is a ‘friend’. I’ve literally watch the electrical inspector walk in the front door, do a 360, walk out with an approved sticker on the door. Spent 2 minutes ‘inspecting’

These are the ones I bought for work, hundreds of them over the years.
Fantastic value, amazingly durable & a nice tool to use as well.

Production people can generally break a good anvil with a plastic hammer yet I never had one come back with a broken case.

I did have a worker cut 1/2 way through one with a radial arm saw... o_O
