Just picked up a Shiftpod III Mini during their black Friday sale. How do you like yours?

Came across this thread and figured I should post a few photos of my (favorite) camping setup with the Tacoma. I do have a ground tent and other means of camping, but the CVT roof top tent is by far the most comfortable and my favorite. Also very fortunate and thankful to have a good buddy and fellow TW member @8sixFabrication that built me a custom off-road trailer. I tow it with the tent on it behind either the Tacoma or the other whip, my 2007 FJ Cruiser

I've been wanting to get into winter camping. Would be a great way to get out for some snowshoeing more often. I was recently in Missouri and their big camping season is the winter. All of them rock a diesel heater. Me being from Minnesota I've never felt I needed one as I'm comfortable in a sleeping bag into teen temps, but it got me thinking that with one I could extend my season into colder months and start doing some snow camping.

 

Getting cold here in the desert - christ only a high of 68 next Tuesday....
Better get out the heavy winter coats..!!!... no lie I'll be freezing.!

It's our revenge for suffering through hellish summers -

Whilst the rest of the country is in deep freeze our doors are open.
No A/C needed, no Heat needed, utility bills drop to nothing.

 

Oooo that's a neat spot, I didn't know you could camp there. Is there much privacy there?

 

there's a decent amount of space between the spots, and the bushes do an ok job of obscuring views of each other

 

Ah okay, I take it the camp spots are pretty close together like a typical yellowpost?

 

yes, but just far enough to not eavesdrop on other campsites and again, the bushes are significant
