I decided to start a dedicated thread for this because I just keep having issues. AA often just doesn't connect when I start the truck and I have to force it through the menu, but this is the newest one. I've been taking a different way to work this week because of a detour, and three days in a row now AA has disconnected with this error in the exact same location on my drive. It is not a cellular dead zone, but it is an industrial area so who knows what might be interfering. Any theories?

EMF if it's a high power use area. 'industrial' means lots of things.

Random idea - I have a turd gen, and an Apple Carplay dongle that makes it work wireless. It connects via bluetooth, then establishes a connection via Wifi. Are you passing by a public wi-fi spot IE a public AT&T or Verizon spot, or a big box store (IE Walmart) with an open Wifi network that you've connected to in the past and your phone is trying to overridde your AA connection to get into the Walmart network?

I had to search to figure it out. It happens right in front of a company that manufactures air filtration systems, and there is a big building materials factory nearby too. Those are the only notable industrial presences in the area - everything else is homes and a few small local businesses.

Good theory, but definitely not that in this case.

If it is some sort of wifi interference, it could even be the small business if they use a connected ERP system that communicates over wifi. The bigger buildings could be wirelessly monitored too, etc etc.

    https://help.sap.com/docs/sap-digital-manufacturing/integration-guide/machine-data-integration

    https://mavenautotech.com/m-track/technology-solutions/sap-integration/

    And many others.

Heck, one of the houses could have a hobbyist 3D printer shop with 4-5 machines they have hooked up to wireless monitoring for prints while they're out of the house.

Lift, tires, fender flares, fangs, engine cover, window tint, window channel deflector, skid plate.
I've experienced the same issue, but just using cell service with Bluetooth. I have a lifetime subscription to Sirius and was maybe going to transfer my subscription to my phone app, but with the unreliability of the connection may just transfer it to the truck.

Not sure how connecting to a wifi signal would cause AA issues. Whenever I pull into my driveway my phone connects to my wifi while still running wireless AA without issue. I usually get a slight skip in audio but no timeout or disconnect issue.

Me neither. I'm a mechanical engineer, not electrical.

But they both use the wifi network, so, I thought it might be something. :notsure:

I did some digging on Android forums. It looks like it could be a wifi channel issue or frequency. IE too many signals on a specific channel within the current frequency. If someone has a wifi sniffer you could probably get to the bottom of it. Based on what I was reading Wireless AA uses channel 149 on 5ghz. I read that on a forum with non US based users so it could be different for the US.

I have the very same issue on my way to work. I pass by a police station, banks, and a fire station and AA disconnects every single time by each place. every day. Almost never happened when I was using the AAwireless adapter on my previous car.
I guess I could try using the AAwireless adapter on my truck and see if it helps. Just too lazy to bother.
    It's only momentary disconnect.

Just a thought. When you have the time, stop outside the 'offending' business. Go into your phone network settings and see which Wi-Fi channels are listed on your phone. 'Forget' the ones you don't recognize. Then drive away several blocks and loop back and see if that solves the problem. You can also do that with Bluetooth settings in case somehow that's causing your issue.

I'm sitting waiting for my wife and have some free time. I don't have this issue, but I downloaded an app called WifiMan to explore the AA connection. If someone did the same in the area where you have issues in guessing you would see poor channel health from a large amount of networks.

My truck is currently using Channel 36 on the 5ghz frequency.

Here is what the connection looks like in the app. You can also use the app up see channel health and what's causing the poor health. I'd be curious what someone could find.
