    So much Dance Dance Revolution!!

It'll be interesting to see if they improve the performance. I feel like it has to be the graphics card but maybe it's the ram that's killing my system. It's a real bummer that it has no message when it dies. I have a nagging feeling I'll basically be rebuilding the whole damn thing piece by piece and it'll be a new PC by the end of it lol

    Do you have dual monitors?

Improve PC performance in general, yep

The game itself does take up some ram, however I'm not sure how much since you're playing the latest

Your GPU and CPU I bet are both getting taxed, but your GPU especially is at its limit for MSFS

I wonder what % they're both running at

Could throw a task manager window up on the second monitor (Ctrl+Shift+Esc), open the performance tab and watch the utilization of all the different computer components.
Since you said its just crashing randomly and you have to restart, you would have to just stare at the task manager during gameplay waiting for the crash and see if utilization of anything spikes or drops to 0 in the moment of the crash.

Had mentioned GPU-Z this way he can see if he's hitting any limiters while playing

Yeah that too, just figured teaching him one shortcut would be easier than installing new software lol

I did shine a light in it and the heatsink on the AMD chip is caked in dust :anonymous: I ordered a can of computer duster to clean the whole thing out... It's never been cleaned in 3 years.... Certainly isn't helping and could be causing heat issues.

Oh yeah that's actually a really good idea. Hadn't thought about that.

Oh it was more to Zane if he was able to help you

GPU-Z is a simple program that is able to display the results of all the monitoring tools used by most GPU's

Since you've got dual monitors, it'd be even easier to open up and move it to an available screen

Then open up a game on the other screen

You will be looking to see if TDP reaches 100%, as in your GPU is running at full power when demand is made (the game) and looking at other items like temp, clock speeds, etc

GPU-Z will also display what GPU you have exactly, as well as stock clock and memory speeds as well as boosted speeds (what the card is meant to perform at)

In short, think of it as a scangauge on your truck and you're just making sure shit is running right

Can I just take the rails and brackets off my seats and weld them onto universal buckets like these? Or is it not that simple

I'll have to give that a try. I mean, most of the numbers I won't understand but maybe this shit will start to make sense one day.... And don't worry the irony isn't lost in me with what I do for work....

it's basically that simple. lots of grinding to separate the factory seat from its rails but not hard to do

I have no idea but this dude is selling off a massive Lego hoard goddamn

I'd be tempted to grab a bag if it were closer and I wasn't so sure they'd become landmines around our entire house. No one appreciates mismatched completely random lego pieces like a 4 year old does

I have no idea what they're really worth, I know the complete sets go for crazy money if they're rare/special editions or what not. I guess random blocks don't really amount to much

Damn, someone in LA won a $200 million dollar lottery on Dec 8 of last year and has 3 more days to claim it or lose it all...

Supposedly when that happens, the money goes into the public school system so that's something I guess. Poor bastard won't get recognized for his or her generous donation though lol.

    Ha you're good

So that part where I mentioned that GPU-Z tells you what card you have? It gives you that reference you need to know what clocks should be looking like as well. Here's my card I just took a screenshot of -

    Screenshot 2024-12-05 091751.png

So then you click on the Sensors tab, and that will give you all your info on your card as it's running -

    Screenshot 2024-12-05 092034.png

You can see my temp is low, fan speed is at 0%, clock speeds as well. It's because it's not being utilized at the moment while web browsing.

Once you fire up a game though, those numbers will change and you want to monitor how hot it's running, ensure power consumption is reaching 100%, and also look at your GPU load as I'm sure your CPU is enough to handle it's task and won't bottle neck your GPU.

Another program I like to use for monitoring (or use exclusively) is HWMonitor.

It monitors all aspects of your computer, but I like using it because it will let you know if it meets any limiters like heat, voltage, etc and also captures a max value on anything it monitors.
