No issues with my glove box. However, this product appears to work on friction and will scratch the glove box side plastic, imho...

The glove box door is spring loaded to push it outward and from the compartment to minimize contact and potential rattling.
At least that is the way mine is. Feature, not fault.

They are all like that but for some reason people can't get over the look of it.

It does not work on friction and will not scratch the side of the glove box. It moves the latching point forward about 3/16 of an inch taking up that sloppy gap that the glove box falls back once you’ve taken your hand off of it, closing it. I’m not sure where you came up with this thought but you are incorrect

From 2005 to 2011, all of the leaf spring suspensions in every Tacoma ever made was improperly designed, which is why they changed it in 2012.
But by your philosophy, all of those suspensions were good because they all were the same. Incorrect, they all were failures, which is why they constantly failed forcing them to redesign the leaf spring system, and add a leaf in 2012 even though it was the same exact platform since 2005

    What was wrong with them?

I'm still driving my 2009 leaf springs with 150k on them every day. That's not to say that I don't think there was a design flaw. I'm just curious as to what it was. Thanks.

Look underneath, you see how yours are reverse sprung. Then go look at every other truck with leaf springs.
They were under engineered to give you a car like soft ride.
and there are thousands of cases filed for the second leaf snapping right behind the shackle on the rear side of the leaf spring. This was an incredibly common issue. There was a TSB released for them, but that’s as far as it ever went until they quietly added a fourth leaf in 2012
(I believe it was in 2012), and in my opinion, they were still under engineered even with the four leaf.
I ended up like many others putting sumo springs in between the axle and the frame to help take some of the pressure off of the leaf springs.

Does this apply to the TRD Off Road option?

Having my ‘09 inspected tomorrow. Rented a 2024 TRD Sport iForce MAX.

How do I turn on the display of the hybrid boost gauge?

As far as I know, it was all of them across the board. I do believe the shocks themselves were different between the off-road and the sport and other models but the leaf springs remained the same and we’re doing the same job.

It will be in your dashboard display,
either on the left side or the right side. Your choice.
one will display boost, and one ( the blue one) will display the hybrid battery usage.

I had to go into setup and enable it, then add it to one of the displays. I put the turbo boost on the left, and the electric boost on the right.

When I was driving the TRD Sport iForce MAX last week, I played around with the 3 different drive modes. To be honest, I did not notice a difference between Eco, Normal, and Sport. What are the different modes supposed to be, exactly?

Also, what exactly does the green "READY" indicator mean in the lower left corner of the dash?

Are the two red bars on the dash simply brake light indicators, or do they have additional significance?

    Thanks.

Next time put it tow/haul mode, and press this button for 3-4 seconds until the dash lights up. It’ll make a difference!

Lift, tires, fender flares, fangs, engine cover, window tint, window channel deflector, skid plate.
I don't have the 3 drive modes, just tow haul and ECT on the 4×4 switch.

AKA..TowHaulAss mode, Shuts the Nannie’s off that often limit torque/power, trans holds gears longer, and better throttle response.

The biggest thing I noticed between regular mode and Eco is it uses less of the turbo. The green ready light tells you that the hybrid part of the vehicle is in good functioning order and ready to go much the same way the green and red light is on a Formula One car. And the two red bars at the bottom are just simply brake light indicators
