I remember playing in the grass/dirt mound with my Tonka trucks and watching 100’s of Monarch Butterflies
Land around me and just chill. Then I would hear the sweet sound of a sonic boom as the jets went overhead.

And the customer didn’t bitch. “Don’t worry about it, it’ll burn off”. As opposed to “I’m gonna get you fired and sue you”.

Get outside, come home when the streetlights come on, riding your bicycle with baseball cards rubbing on the spokes, held on with a clothes pin. Mom would dry clothes on the clothes line, the gas dryer was used as a backup on cold / rainy days

I remember my grandma would hang clothes and durning the winter a storm would blow through.
We brought them in and leaned them against the cellar wall cause they were frozen solid.
We would hang rope across the joists and let the furnace/wood stove dry them out.

I would be out fishing in Long Island Sound and hear these things booming over the ocean en route to NYC.
    They were loud.

We lived at the bottom of a hill on a dead end street. Rode my Tonka truck down that hill for a few years until the wheels fell off. Got pretty good at turning it into the driveway. Back in the day before skateboarding was a thing.

I was one of those pump jockeys. Checked the air in tires, cleaned windows and checked antifreeze with a gauge that had floating balls inside of a tube. Even wore a monkey suit with my name on the pocket.

I believe this was the sort of thing that led to the silly practice of pricing gas as "xx.9." One station would post .50 per gallon, then the guy across the street would post 49.9 cents per. People whould see the 49, and think "Hey, they're cheaper!" Yeah, technically.
