i aint got no winders, just the wind..pic of me going to my stand...

 

Was 31* this morning and snowing . Got 2-3” they said wind advisory but there wasn’t much wind here fine by me .No bucks again . Saw 5 doe and only because I blew a fawn bleat . Pulled 5 unseen doe right within 15 yards of me .

Got 6-8" of semi wet snow not counting the drifts and what the plow throws in the driveways. Did 5 complete driveways, 3 partials and never started on the last one. Barely got into the basement and puked my guts out in the commode. Got clothes changed, took the dog out and barely got into the upstairs bathroom and puked my guts out again. May not hunt the rest of the week - wind chill was in the low teens to single digits. About 2 hours working. Maybe I go too quick??? Don't think I could have handled 2 hours sitting still in the ground blind.

Went out after work was in the stand at 748 ended up seeing 18 does and skippers it was crazy the were all over the bucks were running yesterday none today

is there any money to be made from coyote pelts. Thats a good looking pelt and should be worth MONEY!!!!

I dont think so . I will be having his pelt tanned . He’s currently in a large heavy duty yard leaf bag in the garage freezer until I can get him to the taxidermist. I have a bobcat pelt I got with compound bow and a bear pelt I killed with the crossbow . Just add him to my collection.

 

Thanks, Jeff......I think emptying my stomach completely might have helped had a bit of fettuccini alfredo with chicken for dinner. So far, so good. Coughing has slowed a bit and throat isn't quite as sore. Been getting up at night every hour or so for the past 2 nights - hoping exhaustion lets me sleep longer tonight.

 

Well evening sit had a small 6 come out 2 x he was all legs. He got a pass. beautiful night

 

like they said I don’t think much, I have just salted the crap out of them and “fleshed” in a basic sense and they hold pretty good.. think I washed in warmed water/dish soap between salting a few times, they don’t shed and looks nice in the shop!

 

Cold front came thru here about 3 am. snow showers. then turned cold with heavy winds all day. winds layed down about dark

 

gonna burn my last buck tag next Sat. if i can. my son has a huge buck that must have been hit by a car. blood and skined up hind quarter,crippled up bad. its bow only now and late muzzle comes in next Sat. my son is tagged out. ill shoot him to put him down if he is still hanging there so he doesnt suffer longer or the yotes pull him down.he comes in out of bow range or id go over and use son’s crossbow. damn shame you cant just leagally put him down.
