Actually I changed around the times a little bit and the car rental through enterprise is only $190 one way. Maybe that’s the best option at this point, then ship the truck lr have someone buy it.

Nice, that sounds like a good deal.

Has the mechanic given you an estimate yet?

Yea I called the Latah county DMV and it sounds like it’d be more trouble than it’s worth.

    Everything but the driveshaft. B03A - 410
Recently I had the the 04 Civic rebuilt by a local builder that specializes in GM truck and Honda transmissions. I had to pay out $4,000. The car only had 125,000 miles. We had been changing fluid regularly. It was just one of those things that you live and learn. I should have sold that car when it had less than 100k mileage and bought a Toyota Corolla. We should have bought a Toyota in 04 instead of the Honda. But then I bought the 06 Ridgeline in 08 and put 200,000 miles on it and put a kid through school in it. Looking back, I should have bought a new Tacoma in 08.

You never know what can happen with an older car. They can be hit and totaled out.

I wanted to buy a new rear bumper for the LC and had set money aside for it. That was until the Civic transmission failed. Life could be worse though. I could have bought a new Ford, Chevy, or whatever brand truck and taken $15k to $20k in depreciation in the first 3 years.

Happiness with a car is what you make of it. They don't need to be new.

@time623 more pics. It’s honestly not as bad as it could’ve been. Just dented the exhaust, dinged the muffler which isn’t a big deal. Then the gas tank, which doesn’t seem like a hard fix either. The main thing is the cracked trans housing obviously, but it’ll still actually shift through the gears and go into 4x4 normally; the clutch just doesn’t do anything.

Like I wonder if someone could even weld the housing up, since it doesn’t seem like the gears themselves are damaged.
