Wow, your ram usage is crazy high and that GPU be running hot

    You have a 3060TI right? Disregard, I see it now...yep 3060TI.

Weekends like last weekend can go on forever. We've all wheeled together at the off-road parks and technical trails. We know we can play rough.

But sometimes, we like to relax, bring our families, and take in the scenery while we do good work for charities like Toys For Tots. Here are some pictures from our local Toyota Truck Club members.

Yeah i kinda had a suspicion that i needed more ram. is it the hot spot of the GPU temp that has you thinking it is high? i think when i clean it it will help some, but idk if it is normal for the memory to be running high or the GPU to be running damn near 100% all the time. mid game now:
    upload_2024-12-5_18-4-11.png

also odd it is saying its load is 100% in GPUZ but the task manager shows it at 18%?

With 100% usage on your GPU is fine, and a good thing because it means it can run at its maximum potential without being slowed down by the CPU.

Let's pretend that you had a very low end CPU. If you did, CPU usage would be much higher than the displayed 38%...but your GPU usage would fall as well because the CPU will be limiting in-game performance thus becoming a bottleneck for your GPU and its processes.

I just need to look at what GPU temps are safe for your card.

Mainly because TDP is only 88% so I wonder if it's being throttled down due to heat.

It says the performance cap is due to heat, the pink bar. Max temp for the 3060 is 90C. The 70-80C is normal operating temp. Performance wise it seems...fine? i dont need to push the graphis further for the monitors i use at least.

in fact it looks to be operating in its set parameters.

Reading more, yeah below 90c is ok.

Your vram usage is at 7gb, just shy of your total 8gb.

Your ram usage is at 13gb, just shy of your total 16gb.

Being all at 1080P even, you're near the limits of this game.

Personally, I'm not a fan of 80c+ in a GPU but it's just how all RTX 3xxx series cards are...they run freaking HOT.

You're good to go as is, but I wonder if the crashes that occur are due to things becoming unstable from being maxed out.

Does Flight Simulator create a log of your game crashing? I'm not familiar with Ryzen CPU's so I can't comment on things like undervolting and the sort which helps with stability on late-gen Intels.

No I don't have anything on reboot that has a paper trail. It's definitely up there, and I could dial back the settings in the game I suppose, but idk. The 4070 and more ram would be a nice upgrade regardless. But I just want to fix the crashing. Thermally it seems steady as it's running.

I should add that the Tobii Eyetracker has been a sweet upgrade, still getting used to it but looking around is so cool now. Just forces me not to slouch over time....

RAM dumps are the most common occurrences when a system crashes (or why the system crashes).

I'm almost wanting to suggest you do some memory stress testing, but since you plan to replace ram anyway it could be a moot point. But if you did for the sake of doing it, it could tell you if your ram might be causing the instability or not.

Seams like cheaper ways to have a newer looking 4runner. Now they are going to have to change it out again next year.

Game ran flawlessly last night for 4 hours, no crashes. So now I'm really at a loss LOL the night before it crashed 3 times within 2 hours before I gave up.

After reading that, you may be right. Ol nelson sending me some cards so we will see if that indeed fixes it. I wish I had been able to snag some of the 128gb memory modules from my last gig. I would install 4 of them on a board for 512gb if ram... The thing was a super computer... The chip on the board was $15k. Powerful little units.
