Not sure if you are talking about the full console or the original mini console with the rubber inserts. Before I did my bench to bucket swap, I hated the location of the cup holders on the mini console.

Anyways, if you did the swap to the full console, you can probably easily insert lights probably. This is a good idea that I never thought of and might do it since I decided to keep my Tacoma. I had a 2007 regular cab Tundra SR5 and it had a nice little light that worked well on the console in the middle.

How is the truck driving with the heavier springs? I still haven't had a chance to get my Eibachs on yet

The MT cupholder is ripe for an aftermarket replacement with lights and better use of space.

I’m guessing this is for an inverter or some other part my tuck doesn’t have?

Well, I don't know. Got some rusty bolts to deal with. Messed up a sway bar end link. Gonna wait till I've got some extra hands.

I've still got the shitty bench seat console, waiting on my oem full console parts to come in. Anyways, the little USB light is perfect.

My 2007 Tundra had this little light which is what I am going to try to install into my center console. I really liked it. Apparently it was only part of the smokers package which came with that light so you could see where you flick your ashes (I don't smoke) and the ashtray insert but it worked good for the cup holders too.

I saw a black SR5 yesterday near my neighborhood. I wonder how many Sr5s were made in the 2.5 Gen? Either way it was nice to see another regular cab in my area.

I don't believe Toyota made any 2.5 Sr5 regular cabs. Toyota may have even dropped the trim earlier than that maybe 2009? Could have been a regional thing. The Sr5 is pretty rare back around 05-06 I thought the Sr5 RC was a TRD OR and had the V6, as the majority of Tacomas I saw with painted flares and 16'' alloys were TRD off roads.

There is no 2nd gen regular cab from the factory with the V6 regardless of trim level.

Sales region doesn't get to dictate package offerings from the factory but sometimes there are add-ons done at regional level where they make their own package such as custom wheels, graphics along with a name such as "Texas Edition".

I know there is no 2G V6 regular cab from the factory. When ever I used the configurator way back when I could only build a base regular cab, and everything that had alloy wheels was a V6. Which was when I was ready to buy a Tacoma I wanted the Acces Cab Off Road so I could get the V6.

Did some of the early OR get the SR5 badging on the tailgate?

2014 was the last year you could get one. Which blows because that would be just fine for my needs but if I ever have to replace my 2010 I'm stuck getting at least an access cab.

Jeff Lange did mention the v6 would mate to 5MT with an adapter, would be pretty fun to have in the RC. No massive hit to MPG's I'd expect but the labor would make it costly or time consuming.

My long term plan is EV or hybrid, I really think RC is a great EV platform but that certainly changes the entire purpose of the truck, I'd have to have a trailer to transport it longer distances.

But it's so hard to give up on the 2.7L I4, that thing just seems like one of the most reliable options one can have. Hence a hybrid with gas, ev, both as options would be cool, ev driving the front axles and gas for the rear, use both for 4wd.

I'd like to have a 2014 myself, these trucks really are a great size.

If I had to I'd be trying to sleuth around for one with low mileage, but I'd have to probably buy it in a warm climate and have it shipped to me. I wouldn't probably trust one from here at that age.

I had a 2006 regular prerunner that was a SR5, bucket seats, full console, chrome grill, chrome rear bumper and color matched front bumper and fender flares. Bought that truck brand new for 17k. I gave more than that for my current 2014 RC used 2 years ago.

What does full console mean? The cupholders? You’ve described my ‘05 but I wasn’t if the flares were painted from the factory since the PO had it repainted (AZ truck)
