Anyone know of some good turn key/plug n play door speakers that are better than factory? I'm not a sound system guy but just curious to see if there are some good replacement speakers that have better sound/bass and are louder.

Put an amp to the factory unit and the factory speakers come alive. You will have the best of both worlds for about the same cost and then add an amp/sub combo. Thank me later!

Agreed with the above. Most aftermarket speakers won't sound better than what you've got unless you add power.

I changed out the Tweeters and added an underseat powered Sub, which makes the sound so much louder.. Didn't touch the door speakers. Sounds soo much better now.

If you don't have the factory JBL system, everything should be more straight-forward. As other have said, speakers will add clarity, but probably no additional volume (without an aftermarket amp).

    - Check out Trail Grid Pro and Taco Tunes for plug and play solutions (speakers, amps, head-units, wiring harnesses, etc.).
    - OEM Audio Plus also has a plug and play speaker kit for non-JBL trucks.

The factory JBL system makes things more complicated and expensive (my truck has JBL). I really want to try the plug and play Beat-Sonic "Encore" amp as it claims to boost power and clarity with both the base sound system and JBL system. I personally can't speak to it yet, but it's on my Christmas list.

OP, sounds like you should start here as @Tocamo and most people do.
If you don't see yourself as a 'sound' guy, these two upgrades will satisfy most folks and can be done reasonably $

I used a Rockford and it's behind the dash and a Rockford amp/sub combo behind the rear pass side seat. Fits like a glove, looks OEM and sounds incredible and a set of 2-way dash tweeter/speaker. Even my Friend's stereo shop was greatly impressed.

    This and that
All my speakers have been changed out with kickers I bought from Crutchfield, my front door speakers are 6x9 3 way. And the rear are 6” 2 way. It sounds way better than stock. No amp, yet.

after replacing my non-jbl head unit with a pioneer dmh-wt7600nex i replaced the absolute trash speakers with some pioneer and kenwood mid-level quality speakers from crutchfield (pioneer ts-g690 and kenwood kfc-1796ps), and the stock subaru tweeters that are a popular upgrade. it's like night and day vs the stock system. i was amazed how trash the stock speakers were, feather light with the tiniest magnet and made out of the cheapest materials.

Please report back on the additional amp for your JBL system. I was thinking of doing the samething too.

I'm actually impressed by the quality of the factory speakers. I believe they use neodymium magnets which are stronger and lighter. In the industry stronger and lighter means more expensive.

    LOL!

I changed the tweeters, door speakers, and put a 20W JVC head unit in my truck. I think the factory non JBL I had put out 6W. The JVC really helped along with the speaker upgrade.

Crutchfield has plug and play harnesses to make the job simple.

Man this is like a whole new field I need to learn about... I can wire lights and rebuild a transfer case but this shit sounds like Hogwarts lol thanks for all the info! I'll need to go down the rabbit hole and look into some of your guys' set ups.

I put some 6x9 JL 2-way speakers in my doors, and assumed I would add an amp later, but they sound great, and I am happy with the sound levels from the factory head unit. As others have mentioned, if you buy them from Crutchfield, they give you the harnesses for a plug and play install.

*note* I also had already replaced the dash speakers with the Subaru Kicker tweeters off of Amazon (also plug and play) which was a HUGE upgrade, but the mids and lows were missing, so I added the JLs. Friends often comment on how good my stereo system sounds, and I laugh because all I did was replace the front 4 speakers.

I think if you listen to music super loud or want huge bass, then an amp will be necessary, but you'll also probably want to add a subwoofer. Personally I'd start with the speakers and see if that isn't enough. For me it made a huge difference.

Have to agree, trailgridpro is a great solution for plug and play packages in speakers. I have the same kickers they offer and they are great. Granted I have a dedicated amp and pioneer head unit.

For a subwoofer many recommend the kicker hideaway's in 8" or 10". Seeing as you have a 2018 you may not have power seats. Unless you have seat jackers you'll have difficulty clearing this sub under a seat.
For a subwoofer I removed my driver rear behind seat cover and was able to fit a JL Audio 8" powered sub which is a bit more pricey but far better performing than the kicker and doesn't require a dedicated amp, but you do have to run power to your battery.

WARNING: If you have factory JBL speakers you are running 2 ohm and complicates installing new speakers as majority are 4 ohm if you plan to just go with your factory headunit.

Of what the rear sub? If so when I get back in town.
