Can I add the stock bed outlet and temperature gauge

Can I add the stock bed outlet and temperature gauge to my base taco? Does anyone know if there is a tread or a parts list of what I would need?

 

Not sure about the outlet but I used this for the temp gauge to fill in one of my blank dash buttons. It works great and was pretty simple to wire up.

you mean the 110v outlet? that requires an inverter under the center console i believe. You would probably need a donor inverter from junkyard to start, only in off road models i think.

 

It's in TRD sport as well, but I agree that a donor vehicle to strip the inverter and harnessing out of would be the easiest way to do the factory install. Overall probably easier to just get a different invertor and mount it wherever is convenient

I got the idea when I was getting a tail light from a junk yard because the truck had both but assuming that it still has an inverter would it be better to buy a different invertor or just use the one on the donor truck.

 

Oh wow ok so this is awesome thank you I have heard there was some problems over time with the stock one so this sounds like a better option.

 

As someone else said I would avoid purchasing the OEM inverter. It's fine for basic stuff but you can get a better one and you can wire it more simply than the OEM one is wired.

 

So if I did purchase a different inverter what inverter do I need. Amazon link?

 

What are you looking to power?

 

I do a good bit of camping and I like to cook so like blender, heating element, shitty mini fridge, tv (tailgating) something like that.

 

The stock one is 400 watts, so it might power the fridge and the tv, not the blender and I doubt the heating element, and also only if running the car

Also keep in mind that you'll likely need to keep the truck running if you plan on powering that much equipment via an inverter. A power station might be a better idea.

 

For the temp if you have the sensor on our driver side radiator core support then yes you are pre-wired and it's plug and play. I bought the overhead console from ebay and it was plug and play for my SR5

 

Really happy with it for a cheap mod. Iirc it was under $20 last year, this year under $30

Like my buddy has one and has a shitty mini fridge he puts in the bed locks it n place and it keeps the food cold works well.
