He's been saving all his vacation and spending a month over there each year for years now. Something something about the thin, porcelain skinned women over there. He's an odd fellow, I wish him luck.

Another chilly one, 12 right now with highs guessed to be 22 or so. Snow for tomorrow. 2-4 inches they think.

Aside from that, we get periodic flurries, that amount to an inch or two, that go un reported on the MSM.. i learned quickly if you keep asphalt clear, it’ll get dry as a bone when the Sun hits it. My neighbors think I’m crazy but I’ll shovel a dusting just so it doesn’t partially melt then ice up.

Good morning everyone, welcome to Saturday :hattip:

Welp slept in this morning and it's still 14. Not going anywhere until I have coffee and breakfast along with a warm up.
Then off to moms for a little maintenance and pick up some gifts for the wife.

Good morning friends! Hope you all have a wonderful day :hattip:

Getting ready to go to the wood pile, luckily the wood splitter and saws are in the shop where it’s 63° cause it would be tough cranking if I left them out where it’s currently 24°.

33, feels like 25. It's supposed to be sunny and 40 so I better get outside and clean the driveway off good for the next inevitable snow.

So much for my "off" day from lifting today.

Only 14° low for the night that's still colder than a witches teet outside, but at least we didn't see a single digit low again.

We have sure had some unusual temps this past week. A high of 55° and a low of 8°, just a couple days apart.

You know it’s nice out when you look out the window & see the ice clinkers droppin’ off the mudflaps. Good thing if the potholes won’t do the job. Was contemplating Costco today but finally came to my senses. :tinfoilhat:

If you remember I was trying to get a certain someone to take a trip to Maine to repair my plow frame. Well, $750 later I have the frame and install day is today. I deliberately waited for the cold weather to arrive. :anonymous: Here is the story. The frame on my Fisher Homesteader plow broke fortunately on the last snow storm of the year last year and of course I could not be bothered to actually complete the repair during the warm months so I am at it this morning. Salt does wonderful things to bolts but with a good impact wrench, some PB Blaster and some heat I have managed to loosen all the nuts and bolts necessary and am most of the way through transferring parts from the old broken plow frame to the new plow frame. But when I removed the main hydraulic cylinder from one part of the plow it shortened up and now will not extend far enough to reach where it needs to bolt to the new frame. Any suggestions on the best way to drag this little project over the finish line? Hook up the plow and push the necessary button to extend the cylinder or is there a better mouse trap out there? Thanks for any and all help. And I do have a granddaughter's birthday party coming up at any minute so I might not be able to respond quickly. My apologies as I don't like posting a question then disappearing. And I cross posted in the Tractor Mower thread for those of you in both.

I'd do exactly as you indicated. Hook up the lines and connect the cylinder to the tractor side. Then extend the cylinder with the hydraulics until it's long enough to reach where you need it to connect to the plow frame.

Game of inches. Easier with two guys. One on the bolt the other on the hydraulic side.
