Nope, eye trick. Just curved maple ends. Used my crosscut sled with a jig and dado to cut straight grooves for the walnut strips.

 

11 hour day, third quick job turned into a four hour shitshow. ‘Contractors’ chopped and abandoned wires that were ‘in their way’ then spray foam and entombed them. We chiseled trash bags of spray foam out of the bays in the basement ceiling looking for the live wire ends. Found em. Asshats.

Not like Portland can pull their license. The contractor was on site and fessed up when we started interrogating them. This was their handywork on the exterior receptacle that wasnt working too. Hot on the load, load on the line, and the neutrals were swapped and one not attached, hooks backwards, tons of copper showing. *chefs kiss*
