Technically it doesn’t add hp. Just so we’re clear. It moves the shift and throttle points. So it just livens up the throttle and shifts/downshifts better. The very biggest improvement I’ve found for MPG’s is less rpm’s though. My OTT helps daily driving but it doesn’t improve MPG’s. Slowing down does.

How are these tail lights treating you? I’m thinking about getting them. Wonder how long the LED will last and whether or not they’ll fog up or leak

Even though they look clear in the ad, they are smoked looking. It's only been 2-3 months so no complaints.

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
Actually it does add HP. There are dyno charts that show the gain. It's not much, but it can be felt.

More than that, it fattens up the low rpm toque that you can feel in the seat of your paints, doesn't add a lot, just moves it lower in the rpm range... It comes from moving the cam timing (advancing/retarding the cams) to move the power up/down in the rpm range as well as remapping the throttle response and anything else done in the tune other than the trans...

EDIT, basically the same thing that OldSchlPunk said in his 1st response to this... I went back and re read his

I was quoting Paul from PNWtuning who tuned my truck. I specifically asked him if it ads HP. He said no. I guess he was lying

When it comes to tuning, manufacturers have 3 main goals to meet which are exhaust emissions, noise emissions, and fuel economy. Obviously this translates into being forced to leave room for improvement on the power delivery side. I am certainly no expert, but take the time to watch a few videos on motorcycle tuning where they often show the factory tables and where manufacturers will Rob the engine of power to achieve those three goals. Air fuel ratio, timing, and even throttle opening are the typical areas of improvement, and by throttle opening i am not referring to gas pedal sensitivity but rather how much they allow it to open, which often effects top end power quite substantially more than anything. There certainly are gains on the low end but far more on the top end. My favorite example is the kawasaki ninja zx4r, in America the factory power output averages around 50hp. After a tune and nothing more they average over 70hp which may sound small but in a percentage standpoint is actually huge, and it isn't merely a top end gain but a gain through the entire range is found. Another consideration of tuning is how much it can smooth out the power delivery, although there are limitations to different engine designs, my tacoma definitely drives much smoother even with part throttle after the tune than it did before. I agree it's not a full on night and day, push you back into your seat change, but the power is there throughout the range and it feels much smoother and more predictable than it did prior. It's certainly not necessary for everyone but for those who value these kind of changes it will be noticeable.

I’ve had my Tacoma for a week and a half and so far, I’ve blacked out my chrome badges, tinted all the windows except the sunroof (the windshield got an eyebrow!), bolted on my friend’s old stock running boards, and ordered my Bilstein 6112/5100 lift kit. Once my Taco is lifted, I’ll be switching the tires to the 285/75/16 KO2’s from my Frontier, since they have less than 10k miles on them.

I have to edit my post to add the DD SS3 Sport fogs I picked up for $100 & raptor lights.

Your going to have rubbing issues with those tires on those wheels. Switching to zero offset wheels(or using spacers) and doing some clearance work will be required and you may still rub under some situations without a cab mount chop.

Installed DD SS3 max fogs with the less popular white lenses that I got for BF from Hotshot Offroad. I still need to adjust them lower I believe when I have time.

Crawled underneath to find my 2020 is completely zerk-free, all joints sealed, rolled back out from under, threw Sta-Lube Sta-Plex Extreme Pressure Premium SL3190 Red Grease back into Amazon box, drove to UPS to return. Spent my spare 8 minutes smiling and nodding at truck.

Alignment went well, the tech advised to get UCA for more caster because 285/70/17 would rub the cab mount when I get them mounted on some wheels after winter. Sitting within spec. Tracks straight no rub. So I scored a set of brand new open box OME UCA on eBay for 400 bucks. Added a 1 inch block to the back. And a carrier bearing drop I had laying around from my old Tacoma for reassurance. Will do an AAL in spring. For now block was readily available so I threw it on.

My DD SS3 Pros will go in tomorrow.
