My TH was worth it to me. That’s why I paid the money for it. Test drove a Ranger Raptor. Wasn’t feeling it.

A little over 4 months and 7800 miles on my '24 OR. Drives great. I'm happy with the gas mileage and power. Towed a 4800 pound load into a very strong headwind about a month ago and got 17mpg. I was amazed! My only minor complaint is connectivity issues. Usually have to reconnect my phone and apple car play every time I drive the truck. I'm hoping there's an update coming that will fix that. Otherwise it's absolutely the right truck for me.

I like the truck, but think it's kind of ugly. It's just got odd proportions. The short beds with the double cab look like a Subaru Baja. The silver edge wheels on the TRD OR look hideous. Not as bad as the sport wheels, but pretty hideous.

It's a nice truck to drive. But it's got a face for radio.

No, I really don't. On aesthetics alone, the 3rd gen was the peak.

I 100% thought that at first but now I like the 4th gen better - I like how it’s a fat boy.

I'd never apologize for driving a Prius. My next door neighbor has one that is soon to eclipse 300k. He drove it for 200k and it is now surviving it's second teenager.

You must not drive tight trails.

My 21 Tundy is way too long, low and heavy.

Nice truck but it's terrible in the dirt.

I am starting to not hate mine, almost to the point of it being OK. I am coming from an 05, 2nd Gen, single cab, 2wd manual, that I had been looking to replace.

    1) Too tall. It is almost as tall as as my 4wd Duramax. Why make a 2wd truck as tall as a 4wd?
    2) Too heavy. It is almost 1k lbs heavier than my 05. A 2wd truck shouldn't be over 4k lbs.
    3) Nanny controls. I would love to be able to change the default to no TSS 3.0 at start.
    4) Push to start. I like a key to start and turn off. I hate having to carry around a big key fob vs just a small flat key.
    5) SiriusXM radio. I am not paying to listen to the radio, but I am stuck with it showing up on my "infotainment center". I would prefer just having a radio.
    6) Fuel tank too small. A truck this large needs a bigger gas tank. My 05 has a 20 gallon tank vs the 18.5 in the 2024. A 500+ mile range would have been nice.

There a number of things I like about it.

    1) The ride is good for a truck. The longer wheel base of the 6ft bed along with the rear coil springs makes it a lot smoother.
    2) I like having cruise control, though I have no use for the adaptive one. The old truck didn't have that.
    3) Power windows are nice with the 4 door. Though a single cab, if it was available, wouldn't need them.
    4) The automatic transmission is not bad, though I would have preferred the manual. I just couldn't find a 2wd manual.
    5) It is not an embarrassment to drive. This truck has paint on it, vs my 05 with the rust/patina where all of the paint fell off.
    6) Fuel mileage is good. I am getting about the same 25 mpg that the 05 gets. This is with a much heavier and taller truck than the 05.
    7) Cloth seats are nice. I was glad I found a truck that had them. I have even been using the seat warmers, though that is something I would have skipped if I could. I don't think they are worth the money, but I have it, so might as well use it. :)
    8) I really like the lights. They make driving on dark country roads better and safer. It is easier to spot the deer that have suicidal tendencies :D

Some of the changes I plan for it are adding the factory lights inside the bed. It is dark in there since I put the Diamondback SE cover on it. I have only had the cover for a week, but I really like it, even if it is quite pricey. Buy once, cry once. A 16" wheel would be nice with a higher profile tire to give even a better ride. I really would like to lower my truck 4" in the front and 6" in the rear. Ceramic coat the paint, so it might last longer than the paint on the 05. I also removed the rear seat headrests, now the rear vision is much better, besides nobody rides in the back.

The payload capacity is pretty dismal. I don't understand the nuances of what or why, but on the TRD OR (6' bed), the capacity is only 1200lbs. Maybe I'm forgetting, but I almost positive I saw and read official info that these would be north of 1400lbs - 1700lbs. Not sure what factors impact this, since axle loading ultimately becomes an issue anyway.

That's what I thought too, but the door sticker shows 1200lbs. Which seems unusually round, like it was just a worst case scenario.

I don't miss my 3G one bit. A distant memory. The 4G is the best looking truck.

Terrible take. If you want to compare this to a Ridgeline, fine I’d agree.

I think the TRDOR wheels look pretty good, but I digress.

The SR is narrower than the Trailhunter. You're not getting a Trailhunter, but you don't need to pay 65k just to fit down the trail.
