I found out at the dealer that Toyota no longer makes the adjustable tie-down cleats. Back in the day, the dealer charged $30 for JUST ONE; I got four on Amazon for like $24!

The nursing home and the local police have declared the whole thing null and void from a legal standpoint, but gossip is valuable currency at this place, and they are still talking about the incident. The family of the 7-foot tall elderly man is saying that their family member thought I was going to hit him and grabbed onto my truck to “brace himself”…

    Bullshit.

My truck was in the same spot, stopped with the shifter in park for a decent amount of time, before the guy showed up and grabbed my door. Maybe he thought he was going to flap and reach out to grab my truck for stability, which is understandable if it can be proven to be the case, but all I saw a huge man grabbing onto my door with all of his strength and no letting go.

I sympathize with old man because he’d a stroke, but that doesn’t give license to go batshit crazy and touch my property. The security camera footage from the nursing home allegedly shows that the old man’s son and his girlfriend weren’t paying attention and walked ahead of the old man. By the time I showed up, the son and his girlfriend weren’t under the breezeway, and I’m guessing the old man was in the parking lot where the dialysis patients park. HE WAS ABSOLUTELY NOWHERE NEAR MY TRUCK WHEN I PULLED UP.

If the police had anything to go on, I would have ended up with a ticket of some sort by now.

The bottom line is that the old man’s family needs to keep better control of him in public, because he could do this to the wrong person’s car, and end up with a much worse outcome.

Never buy, own, touch, ride in, or be anywhere near a Honda Accord with a 3.5 v6

Don't even ask me how my day was.....

Just look up how to replace the main fuel line.

Then thank me later when you never lay eyes on one.........

    They are great.
Until you have to put a fuel line in an Accord with a 3.5:annoyed:

Then, you'll wish you had the chance to meet the sorry engineer that designed the routing for it.
And decided it need to be one piece from the tank to the manifold.

The guy that designed that setup needs a swift kick to the nuts .

Needless to say, I ain't never doing another one. EVER......

    My dad's, wife's car.
Had I known what I was getting into, I would NOT have helped.

My dad is big for thinking he "can do everything".
Yeah well, he couldn't do that job by himself.
He got started and then called me and asked if I could help.
    Said "It won't talk long".

    Bullshit.......2 damn days later.
To do it "right", the subframe needs to be dropped.
    FUCKKKKKKK THHAATTTTTT.....

Managed to get it in there. But the exhaust, sway bar, strut brace, Fuel tank, heat shields, and a shit ton of engine bay parts had to be removed.
    And NO......
Not everything went back like it was. And there might or might not be a few "things" left off.

So the car was rendered undrivable the whole time? This is why I would rather just pay my trusty mechanic Pete to do all that shit! I attempted to replace the oxygen sensors myself a couple years ago, but they were rusted in place; Pete had to blowtorch the old ones out, and then rethread the holes for the new ones!

    Mice chew the fuel line.

And I had to torch the nuts off all 9 of the exhaust bolts.
    I used MAPP gas........

And it still pulled all 139 pounds of me across the floor to get them loose.

My mom’s 2013 Nissan Murano, which has barely over 50K miles and no trailer hitch, has the same issue with the dome light flashing while the hazards are on; I borrowed my mom’s car to bring a friend to the Philly airport in the wee hours of Saturday morning because Amanda was with me and my truck doesn’t have a backseat, and discovered this when I turned on the hazards while stopped at the airport…
