looks like a nice kit, but it’d be a much easier sell if it included a tune to get you started

On here it says it comes with tuning. It looks like a piggy back or something. Not sure if it would even work on a tacoma I dont know what kind of ecu toyota uses in other countries.

Hmm that’s quite interesting. I would be super interested in hearing feedback from folks have installed this. I bet the torque is nice, these trucks are hurting for more tqs

From the link you posted, it looks like this will work on the later 2016+ dual vvti 2TRs as well

They sell all kinds of stuff. It appears the prior link is maybe just a reseller or maybe they are opening up shop in america as well. It appears they even make a twinscrew for the single vvti 4.0. If they didn’t want 7k for one I might be interested in testing it out. I can’t help but notice their 4.0 blowers look awfully similar to magnusons. Makes you wonder lol.

Just wanted to note my exhaust mod I did recently. Already had the LCE headers installed. Stock 6 year old exhaust was hurting from all the years of salt so I fabbed up my own. Re-used the original piping as it was in okay shape and to save some more money. Got a Magnaflow cat as they make OEM quality cats. Decided to delete 2nd cat as it's only there for emissions for the first idk 30 seconds or so until the first cat warms up to temp. Decided to put a resonator exactly where the 2nd cat used to be. Got a flowmaster super 50 muffler to finish it off. Install was pretty tough. Header to exhaust flange bolts both snapped, had to spend a lot of time drilling them out and then rethreading them. Thankfully was able to rethread the bolt holes on the LCE header flange. It was my first time drilling out bolts and rethreading holes in a tight space so a big win for me. I highly suggest using a 1/8 cobalt drill bit as the pilot hole. Finished welding everything together and absolutely hated the super 50 muffler. Way too loud when accelerating and getting up to speed. Although it was more quiet when just cruising. Decided to put back on the stock muffler. My stock muffler was too far gone to reinstall so I found a great deal on an exhaust from a 2022 V6 Tacoma, the mufflers were exactly the same as the 2.7L. Got that new stock muffler installed and I am extremely satisfied with the results now. It really refined the exhaust sound. Exhaust note has a nicer throaty sound to it. It really opened up without the 2nd cat. Resonator did its job, has a deeper exhaust note instead of that higher pitch 4banger sound. Been riding around for a week on my commutes I do all the time and now always stay above 20MPG. Before I would dip into 19MPG so I'm going to say there is a power increase. Just all around feels more free flowing. At the end of the day it is still just a 4banger exhaust but I would still highly recommend my set up to people who want an OEM "plus" sounding exhaust on their 2.7L.

Below is a picture of a OEM primary cat with 28 to 29k original miles after running a Magnuson Supercharger that was NOT tuned correctly. The system was then turned with Heltech.
Then I had a custom 2.5” 304 SS TiG butt welded. Using an expensive highflow cat that was purchased from PPE in Tempe AZ. Then into a 5x8x14 Magnaflow then directly into another 5x11x22 Magnaflow up and over the rear diff with a hidden turn down. The bottom picture is the exhaust system removed for the LS Swap.
The exhaust system sounds perfect with just an LCE header on an otherwise stock 2TR. With the Magnuson it definitely needed a bigger front muffler / resonator‼️ If I added another supercharger I do a 5x8x18 or another 5x11x22 muffler. I’m running two 5x11x22 Magnaflow mufflers in a series (one in front of the other) on my LS swap!

I always wanted to gut the rear cat and use a vibrant performance ultra quiet resonator before the muffler. I think that will be the happy medium of good flow/sound. Still passes the plug in test, visual, may have issues on a sniffer test but once the front cat gets hot. I can see some gains removing the rear cat since the slug of a 2TR is usually 70-80% load on acceleration or maintaining highway speeds.

Ok an Update on the 2TR Magnuson supercharger system from LCE!!
Being I couldn’t find someone willing to have the system installed by LCE so they can make a “Installation Video” for the install they convinced me to install the supercharger on my 05. I told the GM that I didn’t want to install it on my 05 because of the mileage on the engine @ 155k. GM just laughed, it just broken in he said. I told him I’m sorry (name withheld) I can’t afford head studs right now at a minimum. And I do NOT want to blow a head gasket or have another issue down the line. He said don’t worry we will do head studs and take care of it. So now I need to get it painted, install the Snow water meth system and detail the engine bay the best I can. The plan is to give them the truck the first part of February 2025.
The GM said they didn’t want the next person to ignore them like the other individual did that has the system installed. He said he really appreciated how I stayed in constant contact with him last time and gave him my feedback on the tune and when I installed the Snow system. I would text him and tell him to give me a ring when he had time to talk. Sometimes he call within minutes and other times he call the next day. Remember I was working with the GM of the company and apparently they have purchased another company so I know he’s a very busy person! He’s also a great guy!
Plus as I have said before I think it’s a really good idea about making a step by step video of the process. Again the company that sells the other system has subpar instruction's at best. Plus the other system doesn’t fit very well. Remember I’ve owned both systems‼️ What I really thought was strange is LCE system keeps the stock fuel pump. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

@daveeasa Sorry buddy you should have taken the offer…

I would have enjoyed it for sure. But I think a GR Corolla would be more fun.

Just mostly saying a truck platform isn’t really the right starting point for zoom zoom.
