For anyone doing this mod I'd like to share my process for bleeding. I didn't do the whole caliper MC booster replacement then bleed. I replaced the calipers first and then vacuum bled. Then I replaced the MC and booster and reverse bled from the caliper up. I did bench bleed the MC as well before installing. To reverse bleed I just used the $7 fluid syringe from Harbor Freight. My thinking is that if you do the whole upgrade and vacuum bleed then you're allowing air bubbles to be sucked into the ABS module. If you bleed down first and then up last then it's more unlikely for air bubbles to make it to the ABS module.
After completing this upgrade and bleeding it this way my pedal was firm and no issues so far.

Thanks for the heads up.... do I need to toyota dealer for abs module or any shop?

Weird thing is when I press the brake pedal I hear sound " shooot" like sound vacuum sucking air but only when I press the brake pedal first time after a minute drive and if I press again second time no sound. Do I have bad booster brake?

    Good advice. Makes sense.
just depends if they have the computer to do it. Believe it would require tech stream or whatever it is.

can’t comment on the noise you are hearing. I’m still waiting to do the tundra portion of all this. Haven’t gotten around to it. Been lurking for a while though.

Anyone that has done the booster conversion, do you still have your old booster laying around that you can take a few measurements off of it for me?

    three things:
The bolt pattern on the firewall side
(Cent. To cent. on all the studs)

The bolt pattern on the MC side
(Cent. To cent. on the studs)

The diameter of the hole the MC slides into.
    Thank you.

    Hey Guys,

What's my best solution for the new MC hardlines? I ordered a set of lines from Automotive Brake Solutions, but he canceled and refunded my purchase. There's probably not enough interest to offer them any longer. I've always hated the soft pedal feel ever since I upgrade to Stoptech BBK. I'm glad I stumbled upon this thread to see that there's actually a solution.

Someone in here made their own lines a few pages back. There is probably a hose supply place local that will make you lines while you wait. Bring them the fitting sizes and length.

If you have some patience, they aren't difficult to make. I ordered the tubing and a handful of fittings for my application, borrowed a flare tool from auto zone. I did almost every fitting 2-3 times until I was happy with the flare on the end. Make sure your cuts are perfectly perpendicular on the tube, and crank that clamp down as tight as you can on the tube so it doesnt move when you tighten the flare tool. I used pliers on the wing nuts to get the clamp extra tight.

My experience with trying to create a double flare brake line years ago to install a line-lock makes me hesitant. For the life of me, I couldn't get it to seal properly.

I had to crank my mine down with the force of the almighty to keep my fittings from leaking so I totally understand. But they don't leak a drop now. Not looking forward to the day they need to come apart.

There's something to be said for paying a little bit extra for something you can take back to the shop if it doesn't work.

Has anyone done withe Tundra booster and MC upgrade with front Stoptech BBK and kept the stock rear drums? I'm wondering how the bias is affected if any without going to rear disc.

    What hasn't been modified?
Upgrade the wheel cylinder to the larger diameter. It’ll require taking the ear off the current shoes.
I did a batch of the break hoses, had a local shop custom build them to the specs I needed.

What size wheel spacers did you use for this? I have 16 in wheels and was wanting to try this.

I live in San Diego county and there's a guy that has wheel spacers made in Mexico and he sells them at automotive swap meets here. They were 1 1/4" thick from what I remember, I no longer use or own them.

The spacers were installed under the rotor on the hub ? Is this basically same idea as spacer used to offset wheels ?

No, wheel spaces. Look at the pics on page one. He used a 1.25” spacer

Do not find anywhere on page 1 that he said he used a 1.25" spacer. Theres no photos of the spacer he said he used either on page one.

Please link what part you are talking about. Measured my clearance today and theres no way 4Runner caliper will fit on my truck, spacer would be the only way.
