plus you can hang it over a fender or a tire etc for easy access when wrenching. going to a tool roll made fixing shit on the trail less painful lol. beats dumping out a giant toolbag into a dusty tailgate to try and find what you need

As cliche as it sounds, there's a song that really inspired me. By the band Beartooth; I was Alive. The basis of the lyrics resonate with me, that when I die and at my funeral they will know that I didn't just live, but I was alive. I think that applies across the board to life and how you choose to go about it.

Or scrounging through the bag for 10 mins to find the right size thing just to realize its not in that pouch.
Thats why i like to use a roll for wrenches, i know where they all are and when its time to clean up i can spot im missing one right away

So, ideally you would just make a "platform" to mount to the factory holes.

Then make whatever mounting provisions to match the aftermarket seat.

This is how all aftermarket seats are done (or those universal ones for vehicle specific applications).

Problem is, they bought one of those to fit the truck and it fit perfect. But it mounted the seats WAY high and forward. I was only told this, we didn't have it with us.

I did a similar thing, but mocked the entire thing much closer to the floor. It ended up being too high.

So the end result was making new holes and using the pre-existing rails for the inside bolts, and making custom brackets for the outside bolts.

The gotcha here is that each bracket is bent with legs at slightly different lengths and angles. Not a single one matched or mirrored the other side.

It'll be fine, you put seats in a Dodge... Those are probably the only things that are going to last anyway

I mean...they can't be that bad NOW if he welded anything, right?

(I did keep him at least 10' away from my welder just in case)
