That article was focusing on electric motors.
I grease my electric motors (@work) annually because the are 'sealed' housings.
We're talking greasy balls here.

 

Well, that's good to know. (Whew!)

 

I don't think the things I am greasing are on the same level of rotational use. I am talking about U joints and spring shackles etc. I agree with what that article is saying, but we have sealed bearings for the most part and that is the concern they talk to. Cool that you found that though. Bicycle bearings can get waxy old grease and that must be the heat issue they note. Fun.

No no no never use thread locker on your balls..... They'll itch....

Send it. Esp if the grease has somewhere to escape, like on shackle mounts
