Temporal end, not physical end that you can go to.

If you've got some time, check out the pages for the different theories. Pretty interesting stuff. You think the universe is old now but some of the timescales go into multiple exponent years, 10^10^10^10 etc.

Had an 01 Tundra which lived, as far as I could tell, a tortured existence. Performed flawlessly, even in below 0 degree weather.

Had 295k miles when I traded it in earlier this year. A couple of weeks before I traded it in I took it on a several hundred mile road solo truck trip. Whooped on it as best I could. It drove me back to my driveway without a single hiccup.

It definitely showed its age, which ultimately lead to the trade in decision, but it did what it was supposed to do without complaint.

You are in excellent shape with the way you take care of yours. These things are tough.

Truck will last as long as we want it to, and as long as we are willing to change parts. We can garage them, baby them, wash them and not beat on them, but eventually time and the elements will have taken a toll on the truck such as heat, cold, ice, etc.. and age will show like other members mentioned. I think everyone is different and those trucks cost a good penny as long as we are willing to spend it.

    Happy offroading everyone.

Not discriminating against any type of truck. You should not be offended.

the gen 2s had the frame rust problem in the snow states but Toyota made them good in most cases, that was big

No way to judge! There are many Gen 1's doing their duty from day one.

I owned my 2000 Tundra for 24 years. Frame was remarkably free from rust despite living in NJ first 4 years. Garage kept 20 years. Sold with only 118000 on odometer. Trouble free and reliable vehicle. Now I'll give my 2023 Tacoma a chance.

We have a 2005 extra cab, V6, MT off road with over 240000 miles that lives outside on a small ranch and is still going strong. This truck is run hard on mountain roads hauling stuff. Over the years: transmission rebuild due to poor shifting into 4th, new clutch, rear differential rebuild, front end needed everything. Engine is original with no oil leaks, or any other problems. It has conservative lift (leveled) and larger tires.Total cost of above, approximately $8000 over nearly 20 years along with 3000 mile oil/filter changes. This truck is the first one out to the hard top after heavy snow. It’s a highly reliable work truck that I believe is good to at least 500k. Also have 2016 extra cab, sr5, 4 cylinder, AT, 4x4 with 80k Not one single problem since new. No lift, no tunes, or tranny mods, no complaints. This one is going to at least 500k too. The latest Tacoma is a good looking truck and I’d love to get one but why would I spend over 40k when I already have got the best?

With what you have described for use and care, the truck may well outlive you. I've owned three Toyota 4x4 vehicles since 1982: A 1980 bought used in 1982 with +/- 36,000 miles and traded it in 1995 with +/- 265,000 miles. The 1980 was traded for a used 1994 SR5 V-6 Extra cab with +/- 16,000 miles and I put 397,000 miles on it and traded for my current 2020 TRD Sport which I purchased new with the intention of taking to the grave as I was 68 at the time. All received the recommended services and then some. Between personal ownership and company work trucks, I've driven somewhere around 960,000 miles in Toyota 4x4's and major issues were rare. Treat it as you are currently doing, and you may never have to purchase another vehicle.

Stay away from bad drivers, change the oil and other fluids as recommended, keep it out of the Northeastern winters, don’t drive at the beach in saltwater, and it’ll last…

Not a joke ... I think. Someone (Mike something?) finally caved at about 1 million on truck he tended. Or do I mis-remember.

I think he got 1.6 million, and the things I listed are probably the main reasons why they eventually die.

Yeah I remember watching a YouTube video about that truck a while ago. Pretty impressive.
