My compressor locked up, so I am replacing the compressor and expansion valve. Any brands that are suitable replacements for OEM and isn't crap? I'd rather pay a little more to not have to do this again.

I believe Delphi is currently the closest thing you can get to OEM since Denso discontinued them but do note that the Lock Sensors on replacement compressors have been quite problematic lately so save the one off your old compressor in case the new one doesn't work.

Also if there is metal contamination the condenser must be replaced and all lines & evaporator need to be flushed thoroughly.

It's a shame that the OEM Denso compressor is NLA but given the expense of doing it over again if you have an early failure, (and the way things are going possible NLA in the near furture) I would go with the OEM expansion valve and any other pieces you need.

It might be worth it to search around for an OEM Denso compressor too: I would think it's a good possibility out there that a big dealer might still have a few stashed away on the shelf. If you need a condenser too, Denso makes them and I understand they are far less expensive than the Toyota OEM part. (which Denso also makes)

Denso always if you can get it.

Stay as far away as you can from Four Seasons.

These are helpful, thanks. Is Denso the OEM brand? So a Denso expansion valve is my best bet?

Historically those OEM Toyota parts have been supplied by Denso, but You may want to confirm that this is still the case.

Denso is generally OEM Toyota for most of their parts. This is a good site to check part numbers at and to see if they still make parts for your application: https://www.densoproducts.com/application/search. It also lists if they were the OEM supplier for that part which is nice.
