My niece has a 2014 double cab 5 lug. A deer ran into the road and bounced down the side of the truck. She definitely needs a new driver's door and a new rear door on the driver's side. It looks to me like she also needs a driver's side quarter panel.

I suspect that the insurance company is going to total it. Do y'all think I'm right? I'm trying to prepare her.

Need pics of damage. I doubt it's totaled, just cosmetic by the way you describe it.

Shouldn’t be totaled unless it has 200k+ miles
Might have to fight them if they lowball the value

My thought process was like this. It looks to me like $10k to $12k in damage. I think the truck is worth about $15k. Which of my guesses is wrong?

Harden your bark, there are storms on the horizon.
I'll just say that someone in Utah just got an oil change on my 21 totaled truck about 3 months after I got a check according to carfax.

Doesn’t look totaled to me. But who cares what we think. What we think makes zero difference. All that matters is what the insurance company thinks.

Sure looks fixable...But it all depends on hour your insurance runs the numbers...

Estimated repair cost + estimated salvage value >/< the ACV. That's how they'll determine whether it is totaled. "Totaled" doesn't mean destroyed, can't be fixed, etc. It means costs more to repair than it does to not repair.

If clean used doors are available, it may be repairable. All new OEM, probably not, because that truck has decent salvage value.

USAA wanted to total mine with a lot more damage than that. I took the payoff (19k) and kept the truck and Toyota dealership fixed for 17.5. Lot of aggravation and requires a salvage title now but worth the effort. Especially for a 2014. Your truck is not totalled from what I see. Insurance companies churning cars for the dealerships is what I see and bet your truck ends up back on the road with a new owner.

Real quickly make a Toyota acct and log in and price an OE front and rear door and the bedside. Those 3 pieces are less than 3k. Paint, no bodywork needed. Swap over door parts and install bedside. They’ll have to blend into the front fender. I’m betting 6-8k repair tops.

Very rare and I don't think I've seen one with painted fender flares.

Hey OP. Looked up when I bought door assemblies and a bed side. The doors are the entire door. For all three parts I paid $1900. They may have gone up some. that was 5 yrs ago. OE original parts from the dealer.

    Its totalled.
Insurance companies don't want too fix anything anymore, since body shops want it seems like $300 plus dollars an hour shop time.
More than 60-70 percent of the value in repairs is a goner.

I'm amazed they are that inexpensive. Maybe there's hope.
