I paid $38,803 in May 2021.

$67,000 - $38,803 = $28,197

 

Yeah I paid $31,500 for my SR5 (new from the dealer) so I could buy two of my trucks for one trail hunter.

And I bet my truck in its current state is just as capable as the trail hunter.

 

I was looking at it, but $60k, I'm too cheap, I wanted some blue coolant, but she told me it was $47.00 (50/50) I said keep it. lol Trailhunter did look nice though.

I paid $38,300 for mine in July of 21. Imagine if I did $29,000 in upgrades. I would have a monster.

 

That was my thought! I paid $37k for the Sport in 4/20… with what I’ve done to mine, I’d bet I’d run circles around that thing too!! Well, except deep water (no straw on my roof) and MPG’s (I’m getting like 17)… that I’d fail!

 

Afternoon MD, any suggestions on where to go to get the shocks installed?

 

@Tonymontana does em. I think Mainline overland will install owner parts. I’ve got the tools in my garage, though it’ll be a bit far of a drive for you. And if you’re swapping springs, you’d have to be comfortable with using the truck as the spring compressor.

There is also… some place in Baltimore, No limit I think. @17taconut would know more. There is a place in lower MD but you’d need to buy from them. Same with No limit. And then https://www.appoffroad.com/? Their site is being update and they’re in Westminster.

I’d say bring it here, but no room in garage for vehicles currently… and being as nasty out as it is I’m sure you’d wanna be indoors.

Are you using the stock coils and just upgrading the shocks? If so, wall-mounted spring compressors are nice. I have a set of small portable spring compressors, but they are a bit sketchy with heavier truck springs.

Where about are you?

 

Figured I'd take it in since Im going to have them replace the brakes pads- appreciate the offer! The best price I got so far was $440 just to install the shocks. Ill look into all of these options tho!

Yeah I'm just using the stock coils and I'm right outside of Harper's Ferry. Def wouldn't feel comfortable installing them especially in the elements haha

 

I hear ya… without a warm shop, hard to get motivated for outside work!

So, here’s a question for ya… Assuming you went with the Bilstein 5100’s (think that was what you were looking at), where are you going to set them height wise on the collar… you going for stock height or level or lifted? Was thinking if you went above leveling it you could add a .5” or 1” rear spacer block and do the rear at same time. Be a great “kick off to spring” truck project day!
