Great area to be. Easy access to phx, scottsdale, and the whole east valley. Commuting towards west valley would be a bit rough, but most the east has the better jobs anyway lol.

Just make sure you aren't going to be driving through or too close to campus on any hypothetical commute, that would get old quick. Rural and University get especially bad.

 

Yeah I used to live at Scottsdale and McDowell. Idk why I sold that house…

Prescott and especially Prescott Valley have a huge water problem too.

Fire is a real problem all over the west, joined efforts and years of planning and saving money led to a large fire fuels reduction this past year around Pine/Strawberry. it will always be a concern for us, but at least its a long overdue step in the right direction.

Pine/Strawberry water district is slowly upgrading, but funds in small communities are always the holder back of progress, the district is looking into grants for the much needed improvements.

the deep water well (2k FT) was taken to court by a handfull of my neighbors, literally, like five of them, and they won the case and got the new well shut down by using the CC&R's from 1970, however the water ditrict has laywered up and is shooting back with there own way of trying to get the neighbors on board civilly, next step might be emminent domaign.

they offered us $500 to waive our ccr rights, i dont know who all may have taken the deal, i didnt.

on a more personal note, i really dont see what the objection is to a well and pumphouse on a residential lot in a neighborhood, the lawsuit specifically mentioned home values and the impact a well would have on that, i dont see it, pumphouses in communities and neighborhoods are a pretty common thing.


ps, Payson is JUST chain eateries and crap, there are planty of privately owned places to eat, but yes, Payson seriously lacks a "cute" downtown area.

p.s.s. Sportsmans lodge is a nice little bar and food is good, but if you havent tried it yet, the Italian restauraunt at Strawberry Lodge is exceptional. also the Pie bar while being a bit cliche and trendy for me, has damn good Empinadas albeit a little overpriced, but what isnt these days.
