I think it's easy to overlook how good Flea actually is because most people only talk about his slap stuff. One of my favorite bass lines from him is actually "Soul to squeeze."

I don't like his attitude. I don't like his naked playing and I don't like the way he talks to people.

I also don't like the way that he talks about things like key signature doesn't matter. It absolutely matters.

And I recognize that ultimately, that's just my opinion.

I should have mentioned in my other post some guys like Stanley Clark.

We used to go watch a local rockabilly band once in awhile, and the bass player was incredible.

I tried to learn the upright slap technique at one time when I had an upright for about 6 months, but I never got very good at it. I still think about getting an upright again. It was really fun to play!

I try not to pay too much attention to what celebrities say. It usually ends up making me like them less.

Flea may very well be a douchebag. But, he's a great bass player, overall.

Stanley Clark is definitely a legend! I want to check out more of his stuff and maybe learn some things from him.

It's kind of funny. I spent like 20 years of my music career telling people that I don't like the Beatles or the stones. I still don't like the Beatles or the stones, but.... I sat down and watched a clinic that involved a lot of Charlie Watts work and damn... What a legendary drummer. Like as a drummer composer he is unreal. Even though I may not like the music they're making, I can definitely recognize how influential it is and how well put together it is.

Same sentiment applies to rhcp. Not my cup of tea. But I recognize what it's done for the industry and the scene as a whole.

Yup. I don't have to like something or someone to accept their contribution to music. For every great band or great musician, there will always be a handful of people who just don't care for them. Zeppelin, the Beatles, the Eagles, the Stones, etc etc all have haters.

I'm a huge Grateful Dead fan and I get that it isn't for everyone (as is other music).
Jerry describes the dead like licorice.
"Not everyone loves licorice but those who love licorice, really love licorice."

Get to reading up on them and one will discover all the ties they have with people, things (i.e. the Simpsons, Twilight Zone and innovations they've made in the industry.

Jerry is like a whole nother level of human being.

Once had a jazz pianist call me Jerry at a session. (I was on 2nd guitar) And THAT is probably one of the top 3 compliments I've ever received.

You should use whoever slee off-road uses. I expected the my sliders to look like trash by now but they’ve held up really well.

I'll show a close-up of the finished hidden receiver because I think it turned out awesome.
    20241210_144941.jpg
I used a foam staining brush to apply the Woolwax Hard-On then patted it with the brush to give it a texture.
Finished it with a coat of Krylon, flat black, protective enamel..

I don't know how it will hold up on sliders but that's what I'm doing to them when I get around to it.

I did! As much as I would have liked to resell them I'm sure the dealership would not have been happy with holes drilled in the stock mounts nor did I have any shocks to put in so I would have had to go buy some random shocks to slap on it

Not sure why I didn't think of it sooner....
Could've swapped them with my Nitrochargers.

2hrs tops. Don't even need to take the wheels off.
