I drove past him a few days ago in west ashley, assuming there's not another one in that color with the same roof rack....
is that the gentleman who folded the factory skid plate and almost removed his rear bumper at overland south?

Lol. I mean a brand new Toyota 4x4 is pretty bad ass without mods. I'd want to see the stock suspension work before throwing on after market.

Sounds like he's enjoying owning the truck and definitely needed the lift. Haha.

Looks like Dan finally got some Dobinson MRRs for that GX550! He was told me he was talking to them about it when I tuned his 4Runner last month.

Took him for a quick ride in my truck so he could feel them out.
He even let me drive the GX550. Thing is sweet!

anyone have a recommendation for a local speed shop or anyone willing and able to build 2 small custom, odd shaped, aluminum fuel cells? going to talk to round fab and A&R to see their feeling on the project. ill do all the design work and provide proper drawings, just need someone to cut and weld the 1/8'' aluminum plate and fittings. I only have DC TIG, and feel like my spool gun is the wrong tool for this application.

If you provide proper drawings could a normal fab shop be able to do the work? I’m ignorant in the differences in the types of work different shop are allowed to do. There’s a metalworks shop over here off of main road on Johns island that might be able to. Williamson welding. I’ve never used them but I’ve never heard anything bad about them either.

What about, send cut send? You send them the drawings and what material you want, they cut it and send it to you. You'll need to find someone to weld I up for you though.

Cutting is the easy part. I have plenty of aluminum plate that I can plasma cut myself if that's what a shop wants. Usually they like to cut themselves though to make sure fit up is to their liking (and more hours for their guys), which I'm completely fine with. Just looking for someone with an AC TIG machine. I doubt it'll be anywhere close, but if making them costs more than an AC machine, I'll just buy the new welder.

Sounds like you should be able to find a place around Charlotte with all of the custom fab race shops. Don’t know if any though

Nice. I don't think they are going to offer them in black anymore, low demand for black. He did say maybe a group buy for black. I guess I'll just have to go the 16" oem route.
