It’s still an Off Road with Pro stickers either way you look at it. I don’t think anyone’s bashing, just wondering why

    Why does anyone do anything?

Why does someone put mud tires on a pavement princess?

Why do people get a lift and stay on road?

Three pages dedicated to wondering why someone would do something to THEIR truck, I love the internet

I couldn't decide the where I wanted to mount it and how many screws I was gonna use. Hence all the countersink holes. I ended up using (4) #14 x 1" stainless screws. It feels pretty robust.

    Ya.
Back in the "60's" people used t put mag wheels and paint flames on their 6 cylinder plain jane.
Some people take the sticker off their ball cap some leave it on.
Some people paint their house or fence crazy colors.
Some people like tattoos all over.
So what. It's theirs so theirs to do whatever.
    it's easy to criticize.

Is that a 2" lift? Did you leaf springs in the rear?

I want to get a "Bilstein Leveling Kit" instead of a Lift because my pavement princess doesn't need a more expensive Lift.

    Then I can get a semi-aggressive wheel/tire set-up.

It does seem crazy what people do to their Tacomas...but I'm more of a spectator in this regard.

This guy makes it look easy without messin' TOO MUCH with the Springs.

Lift came out to just under 2 inches. I went with the Icon RXT leaf pack

Pfffttt I want to lower my 2wd pavement princess about 2", why in the Hell does a 2wd truck need to be so high, I have drop steps on it for my wife and grand kids, but man I keep hitting my shins on them if I am reaching over to get something out of the passenger seat or console... But I still love the truck and the steps look good against the red... lol

Install the adjustable hydraulics and 13 in tires. So you can drive down the road with the nose high and the truckbed tilted low. :boink:

No I don’t have them mixed up, the suspension is different and should have mentioned it with the lift. But if I went out and got a set of fix shocks or better suspension would it not be comparable to a pro?

Yes or no answer only? Yes!
And make that an emphatic yes. There are thousands of TW members here with purpose built Tacomas custom fitted just the way they want'em, and probably wouldn’t trade for anything else that looks like a truck …hence the reason why I 'liked' the post made by the person with the pro sticker -he had a nice truck.

Paying $5000 for a factory suspension and then, like me, paying another $5000 premium on top of that is not for everyone, I get it. But for an old man like me, sometimes we reach a point where it becomes less about the money and more about the truck. The Pro does what it’s supposed to do and does it really well. I don’t have a hard time seeing the value with it.

There was a big Hotwheels display as I entered a local Kroger today. I curiously looked and found this. I felt like a kid as I snagged it for $1. :D:rofl:

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
I have an OffRoad. My professionally tuned shocks, leafs, skids, sliders, bumpers and winch probably didn't cost me $5k combined. And the ride is pretty damned good.
