Last Saturday, Amanda and I went to Peddler’s Village, and we encountered a guy in a very festive Honda Civic. We were talking in the parking lot, and I warned him to stay out of Hatfield. Turns out that the picture used without permission by Hatfield PD was taken at his house, in Collegeville.

Collegeville is about a half hour from Hatfield and obviously not in that department’s jurisdiction. On top of that, the Civic owner told me that he never posted the picture on any social media and it confounds him as to how a police department 30 minutes from where he lives got it.

I’m thinking that the Hatfield PD removed the post from Facebook not because they give a shit about public relations, but because somebody threw a fit about a picture taken on their property being used without permission.

Whatever.

I’ve seen more vehicles with Christmas lights on them this year than any previous year, I don’t think they’re endangering the public, and and I do think that Hatfield PD needs to worry about the drug dealers and pedophiles rather than people driving around with Christmas lights on their vehicles.

I seriously drive by police in my area all the time in my rolling 2-ton Christmas tree, and none of them care!

 

Certainly no worse than those electronic led bill boards searing your retinas out.

 

They just had a story on local news last night about this subject, some 20 yr old kid in a Camaro did his up and got in trouble. Jeez..could have at least not written him up one time.

 

So, as everybody who reads this thread knows, I met this group of people who all have Aspergers at a club for people with Aspergers back in January 2009. Nearly 16 years later, most of us are still friends, and all of us in that group have driver’s licenses and our own vehicles.

My friend Doug drives a 2011 Nissan Altima 3.5 SR that his dad bought brand new, and gave to him about a decade ago because he wanted to get back into an SUV. The Altima has been involved in two moderate accidents (resulting in $3,500 and $5,000 in damage, respectively, and not Doug’s fault). At nearly 180K miles, the car is somehow still on its original CVT and looking pretty good, but something was missing. Almost two years ago, I got my best friend Mike WeatherTech rainguards for his 2017 Chevy Trax. This year, Amanda and I went in together on WeatherTechs for Doug’s car!

 

They were very easy to install; Doug’s dad bought the Altima brand new in 2011, and Doug totaled his 2003 Toyota Highlander in the summer of 2013. Doug started driving the Altima, and his dad just gave him the car when he bought a new 2014 Toyota RAV4, which he still has; I am not a huge fan of 2002+ Altimas that don’t have a third pedal (CVTs suck), but Doug’s car is of a particularly pretty color combo in my opinion…

 

The A/C compressor failed a couple years ago in the middle of summer and bad to be replaced, but other than that, Doug’s Altima has been incredibly reliable and largely trouble-free. At nearly 180K miles, I honestly would not be shocked if the CVT shit the bed tomorrow….

 

Nice little ride. Simple but gets it done.

Damn I should have asked you to buy Weathertechs for us when we got the Rav4 haha, those were some $$

I mean it makes sense for this particular..especially since the lights used are usually forbidden colours.

But the way they enforce this law at times is asinine. My friend's brother growing up had a 83 Olds Delta 88. When the 3rd brake light came out he bought one and installed it. He failed the MA state inspection for having it. So it's such a good idea that it was mandated starting in 1986 but adding it to one prior is illegal..

 

Well, the lights don’t go on until after the truck is inspected, so I honestly don’t care. Police need to go after child molesters and drug dealers, and leave me the hell alone!

 

My parents’ house has a single wall oven with the microwave above it, but some houses have double oven; I’m pretty sure that if my parents paid enough money they could have gotten a double oven, but by default only the updated floorplans got double wall ovens standard (Chapel Hill II, Remington II, etc). We were over at the neighbors’ house on Sunday, I was bored, and I just randomly pushed the light button on the oven…

 

GE couldn’t even be bothered to give each oven its own light switch, and one switch turns on both lights!

 

My neighbors’ house had one of the infamous exploding microwaves, and it had to be replaced…

My other neighbors are Jewish and their son is about to have his bar mitzvah (plus Hanukkah is coming up); Painting with a Twist is relocated and was selling off all sample paintings for a dollar each. I bought 15 paintings as gifts for family and friends, including these two for the aforementioned neighbors…
