"Employee appreciation" event at lunch. Ugly Christmas sweaters requested. I wore a sweater, some Christmas socks, and rolled up my pants.

That should be ugly enough, no?

 

Good morning all. Had taken a bit of a mental break from the internets and job hunting the last couple weeks. Needed a little time to wind down and de-stress. Still no luck on the employment hunt, but still looking. Hope everyone is having a pleasant holiday season so far.

Thank you. I have been waiting for weeks to hear back from a company I interviewed with in lats October/early November. They keep telling me "we just finished all interviews, ,we will be making a decision in the next day or two." Been getting that line for the last 4 weeks in a row,, but nothing as of right now. Getting really frustrated by the delays and unprofessionalism.

 

Everybody just calm down.

Lunch

 

I completed the final round of interviews in early November. I was told at that time, the decision would be made within a couple days. Nothing... After a week, I contracted the HR person I was working with, he said "we just finished up all the interviews, the team will make a decision in a day or two and get back to you." Nothing.... Two weeks later, I reached out again. "We just completed all interviews, you are one of the top 2 candidates, the team will be making their decision by end of the week (that was last week)." As of right now... still nothing. I know this time of year, lots of companies go into "holiday freeze mode" and don't take any action on hiring until after the new year, which is perfectly understandable, but this is the third time these folks have given me the "we just finished interviewing everyone, decision will be made in the next 1-2 days", and it's now been a full month. Ugh....

 

Yes very… but that’s from head of troopers, so it’s a significant swath. Usually I’ll get personal opines as well.

 

Yup, I just heard similar - no new employees until after new year.

 

I resent that… I’m more of a crankhead…

My favorite northern thing for here in the south? A right proper ice scraper. Not that chickenshit credit card thing or that ridiculous overkill electric BBQ starter scraper. Just a properly made durable scraper/scuffer.
We don’t get frost/ice all that often, but when we do it’s inches thick (think frozen rain/black ice) and stuck on. Defrosting is your only solution and pray you don’t crack the windshield.
