If it's too wet outside to split wood, it's not too wet inside to make Deere sausage o_O

Absolutely not true. I've seen many of torn up, run down, wore out, or totaled trucks........without a plow on them.

I also had a truck with a plow on it. Made a lot of money with it when I had it.

I guess it depends on how you use it, and how much you use it. Put it on, plow your quarter mile long driveway, and maybe a couple of your neighbor's driveway, and take it off. Probably won't be a problem. For the last 12 years I've worked at a company where we plow two large parking lots with numerous obstacles in them. Plows went on before the first snow, and for the most part didn't come off until after the risk of snow was over. We've had two trucks since I got there. First one was there when I got there, don't know how much it been used before I got there, but I know we put at least two power steering pumps on it and the mechanic worked on the front end numerous times. The second truck was brand new, and hasn't been used much because it's been a mild few winters since we got it. So no mechanical problems yet, but a lot of squeaks and rattles that a truck that age shouldn't have. I assume that comes from running into curves and hitting potholes and manhole covers and all the other b******* that goes along with plowing a parking lot. So to each their own but there is no way I would put a snow plow on a Tacoma, or any truck that was my daily driver.

I see guys on the tractor forums beating the snot outta their tractors blaming it on the manufacturer when something gets taco’d. Like the long argued ballast discussion. Dude buys a tractor and flips it killing himself. Wife sued Deere for millions and won. People just buy shit and jump in and hammer down. Know your equipment, use it properly and outfit it right and you have a sound tool.

People buy a tractor and think they bought a CAT D8 dozer. My friend is a prime example and his tractor shows it. Everything has it's limitations

It does depend on how you use it, and who uses it. If it's mine, I treat it like I paid for it and have to fix it if I tear it up. If it's yours and I'm on it, I treat it the same way.

Not everyone is like that, if it's not theirs they don't care a lot of the times.

That's true. On the other hand if you're plowing for pay then time is money. Or, like us we had to get the parking lots plowed before guests arrive. You just have to do what you have to do.

Anyway, I guess I should clarify. I didn't mean to imply that if you put a plow on your truck in 2 years it was going to be a heaping pile of s***. But it does age your truck prematurely. How much so depends entirely and how you use it. That's why I say there's no way I would put a plow on the truck I use as a daily driver.

I like snow, but only every 5-10 years or so. And never where I still have to commute for work. If there’s snow, I want the town to shut down So I can go have fun.

Problem is, ours is never just snow. It’s always a layer of frozen rain under a light dusting of snow. Ice rinks for days and not a winter rated tire in sight.

Opposite here. First it snows then the sky’s clear & it goes down to -40. Like it’s gonna do tonight

Snows here every couple years for 2 weeks then national emergency and cars in the ditch then it clears then tire chains all over the highway. Probly more electric cars per capital than any other state besides Cali. They’re fun to watch too. People think they got all wheel drive they’re safe on soccer mom tires lol

I passed a couple cars this morning on my way in doing 20 under the speed limit. It was just raining :anonymous:

My commute is 55 minutes one way, 99% of it is 2 lane rural community roads.

Latest craze in stupidity has gotta be Folks trying to use an electric leaf blower to clear snow off vehicles. Guess they missed the first day of electricity 101. o_O
