About to get after it! Lots of chopping and welding double sheer uppers, body mount relocate, heavy alignment tabs, spindles, leaf hangers

Lots of work ahead! Do those strut reservoirs plumb to the bottom of the shock body?

My Hcalory diesel heater arrived today.

    IMG_6776.png

This here is the plan. I will use a piece of black corrugated plastic or abs and put a 3" boat hatch port in it and slide the window open and insert the plastic piece for the heater hose to pipe warm air into the shell. Keeps me nice and warm in fall and winter time when camping.
    IMG_6608.jpg

I plan to get a wheel mount for the heater like in this pic. (I don't want to drill into my topper shell though).
    IMG_6612.jpg

Next up is to make a removable platform for a full or twin size mattress.

That’s going to be tight in a short bed, unless you’re really short or plan on sleeping diagonally.

Definitely a lot of work.. I've been planning this one for a while. Should be fun! Yes, the struts plumb from the bottom and the shocks from the top.

As far as badging, I had a 67 VW beetle and I put a Cadillac emblem on it. It looked really cool. I think it rode better after I did that.

I love the SS3s, I have them as Ditch right now. I'm debating going SS5 for the front bumper link or the baja designs 5 pod.

I’d suggest a bambeds design, easily stowed and removable! Sleeping diagonal above the wheels is doable for a single person in a 5’ shell, I used a tent extension and a 6 foot platform for a full size purple mattress and it worked great, not a ton of head room. I’m still looking for a steal on a taller shell. This one was $250!
