Yeh had some shit bag cheapo headers from Pacesetter on it with EGR and AIV deleted, factory cat, new pipe over the subframe and under the axle (easier to run) and a basic ass thrush turbo muffler on it with some neato exhaust tips I found used.

Nooo shit Pacesetter has/had headers for the Z?

Now I have to look them up

Wonder if the welds are just as atrocious

jetboils are fine pieces of equipment. I keep one in my crew buggy for making coffee every morning. Makes me feel like a real renaissance man having rocket fuel to sip on while watching all the peasants drinking fire camp coffee out of those plastic govt. containers.

those little guys are nice. The whisperlite model runs on a hand pump connected to a sigg filled with white gas. The international model can run on pretty much anything. It makes you carry a pot and pan but really that just expands the things you can make. Mountain house and MRE’s are fine but fresh bread and honey with sizzling summer sausage ain’t bad for a guy sleeping on the ground.

The welds aren't bad but the header design is retarded, the O2 sensor bung was placed where it can only sample one exhaust runner, none of the bends lined up so I ended up just putting the headers on and having an exhaust shop make the rest.

@Kwikvette - My oldest son will be working in Castiac CA and staying in Santa Clarita for the next year. I see mountains and lakes. Looks like a cool area from the map.

I grew up there. Lived there about 15 years total. There's a ton of wheeling in the Los Padres forest off the grapevine and also off the 14 freeway outside of SCV...Rowher Flats, Drinkwater, Deer Peak, Gorman, Miller Jeep trail, Lockwood etc. Used to wheel those spots all the time.

Where @Kwikvette and I camped before his son was born was right there near Rowher Flats, they had closed all state forest and OHV areas that winter though because we had some crazy repeated storms.

    Ugh that doesn't sound fun

I plan to keep this thing stock cause, well it's NA lol

It'll be a slow car to drive fast, and aside from needing to buy a downpipe, anything after the CAT will be free game so I wanted to get something nice and mellow

It seemed like they were always costing me an arm and a leg, even without accounting for labor. The knock sensor and harness was $500. The rack was another 500. Alignment hardware and control arms were probably a grand at least. Even the timing kit and new fan components were probably close to a grand. Not complaining or whatever, and I’m sure you can find stuff cheaper if you’re more savvy sourcing parts and going to wreckers etc., but I just didn't find them dirt cheap to maintain like some people say.

That's where you score your best deals. An owner spends a bunch of money to build up a rig and gives up before they reach the goal. A new owner buys the rig for cheap and makes a couple of corrections and hits the jackpot. When I would go to Atlantic City, I would watch people playing the slot machines. Eventually they would give up and walk away. That's when I would move in and for 2 or 3 coins, hit the jackpot.
