    Hello 4th Gen Tacoma Owners!

    20240929_090813.jpg

Air Down Gear Up is pleased to introduce our 4th Gen Tacoma system. As a brief introduction to anyone who may not know us from other vehicle offerings, we specialize in making premium vehicle storage, sleeping and kitchen systems. Our system utilizes an all-aluminum frame mounted directly to the vehicle via a solid, machined aluminum 'anchor bar'. We focus on integrating as cleanly with the vehicle as possible. We want our system to enhance the appearance of your vehicle AND provide a lifetime of high performance.

Our Tacoma offering is intended to be paired with a 'habitat' style shell system mounted on the truck. This system provides the storage and cooking needs, while the habitat creates a sleeping solution.

The drawers feature full extension, ball bearing slides that provide full and easy access to all of your gear. The slides feature a lock-in and lock-out mechanism (an all-metal component for a lifetime of predictable use) to provide safe, rattle free access to your gear. We utilize a particular slide with adjustable stops, meaning there is ZERO noise from these drawers when stowed. In addition to the lock-in/lock-out mechanism, a keyed lock can also be included to prevent unwanted access to your valuables. The drawers contain 100% rattle-free, moveable dividers so you can dial in your storage exactly to your needs.

The drawers are compatible with both our slide out table and the drawer top work surface. The slide out table is a fantastic addition to the system, as it provides a great place to prepare food, stash gear, hold a drink, run a stove, anything you need! The slide out table is quick deploying and can be used with the drawer open or closed. We incorporated a lift-out top access hatch to the storage drawer so that gear in the drawer can be accessed while inside the habitat of the vehicle.

This system as shown includes our 3-stage kitchen, providing fast access to a fridge, stove and work surface. All of these stages can be used independently, you can use each one individually, extend the entire system out, or any combination as your needs dictate.

In addition to the drawer and the Kitchen module, we incorporated additional storage cubbies along the vehicle-front side of the system. These have lift-off hatch covers as well, held in place with a proprietary magnetic catch. This space is great for storing things that you may not need 'ready access' to while at the tailgate, but the lift off hatches make them easy to access while in the vehicle.

Just looking for the right customer! We suspect the systems would be essentially the same, just with any anchoring differences between the 4th and 2nd gen.

We are tying into the cargo d-rings of the bed on the 4th gen, with no drilling or vehicle modifications required. Looking at pictures, it would appear the 2nd gen bed arrangement isn't a whole lot different from the 4th, which might make that an easy adaptation!

Something that's important to our design is NO VEHICLE MODIFICATIONS! We design our anchoring system to mount into the cargo tie-down locations, without the need to drill any holes into the bed. We want to make sure the system can come in and out of the vehicle without leaving any scars!

To achieve this we utilize a machined, solid Aluminum 'anchor bar' that bolts into the threaded holes left by removing the cargo tie-downs. Our system then mounts to these anchor bars.

    Anchor Bar Taco Edit Teaser.00_09_03_49.Still001.jpg

The vehicle-rear mount (near the tailgate) is simple: cargo tie downs are removed, our bar is bolted in flat, utilizing machined spacers to level out the grooves in the bed. For the vehicle-front (near the cab) we created a bracket that bolts into the removed cargo tie-downs on the vertical wall of the bed. This anchor bar sees a lot of force, so we also added additional bracing.

These anchor bars create a completely rigid mount for our all-aluminum frame for the drawers/kitchens.
