Yeah I 100% get it! I was really struggling with rebuilding my truck but really just wanted it back together and out of the garage. I just had to force myself to get out there every day and at least turn one bolt and found that if I could at least get started on it then I could keep tinkering for at least an hour and that got me through the project. Your Civic will be super fun once its back together though!

The key delete is a new top triple and bypass wiring and gas cap so I don't need keys anymore. Just so I don't forget it before going to the track, really. It also gives me a little bit more room up front without the key cylinder.

I got it kind of put together last night but need to take it apart again and loctite it and adjust it properly.

Transmission stuff is a new internal shifter arm and a shift shaft support as I've had some issues riding on track.

    Race *bike* shit.

Got everything loctited on and lined up. Looks so much more aggressive!

Unfortunately the brake line hits... need to find a solution:

    upload_2024-12-12_10-22-32.png

Also got the gas cap on but dropped a bolt somewhere (at least not in the tank). I'll probably get some cool colored ones to replace:

Super reasonable prices and crazy fast shipping for being in Thailand! I got all this stuff in less than a week.

Yeah, I've ordered from them twice now I think for some Grom parts. Within a week each time. They're able to send the H2C stuff from Honda's thai market. I almost got their exhaust, but cheaped out and went with the Zoom instead. Still eyeing their dual high mount though.. maybe someday when I start doing videos again.

Had a VERY eventful ride home to walk the dogs at lunch. My F800GS died on me six times :annoyed:

99% sure it's the battery, but it may be the stator. Battery is an antigravity li-ion that is 3 days short of six years old. Stator is a common failure point on this generation of F800GS's and is also almost six years old (Jan 2019) but has less than 15K miles on it, so hoping it isn't that.

First death: coming down a curving ramp in our parking garage, just shut off mid corner with not enough traction to keep the engine turning over, rear wheel locked and slid. Managed to stay up but that was a shit inducer. Key off/key on, bumped it back to life.
Second death: about 100 feet down the road, same thing, just died. Pulled in the clutch, coasted a bit, bumped it going again.
Third death: Downtown at a stop light, just died. Couldn't bump it there. Hopped onto a curb and into a little hilly-parking lot. Did a tiny bump to trigger the battery's "Re-Start" feature, and then it had enough juice to turn the starter over.
Fourth death: Going down a hill, key off/key on, bump, bump, go
Fifth death: uphill, but luckily at an intersection, managed to use the starter on this one
Sixth death: literally at the top of my drive way haha

Will dive into diagnostics tonight once the kiddo goes to bed and figure out if it's truly just a battery that's shit the bed.

Luckily, multiple bikes, rode back to work on the 701. New grip heaters I put onto it get SPICY hot. Love it. :bananadead:

Stator and battery at this point imo

Yeah, those are my two thoughts. I can use the battery I just put into the 701 and put the agm I took out of the 701 back in. Stator is around $180, battery was $100. Stator is super easy to access and swap, so either way not that bad. I'll pull the connector tonight and meter out the different stator windings and see if I have a dead or shorted winding on there.

Ive looked into it but its another ~$3k between fairings and exhaust which is too much to spend on a Grom imo.

Saw this on marketplace today and thought it had a pretty cool little livery on it with the old school elsinore colors and branding 469861650_566336296256563_47402299552798_283e0c28c4a0cb88aa1abd04e7e25662558bfb9f.jpg
