So these things operate on a battery, there is no 'engine'? I saw a youtube vid where guy takes one apart, and from what I gather, a mist of diesel gets shot onto a hot glowplug, it ignites, then a closed ventilation path carries heat from the metal enclosure/ignitor/machine into the room you want heated. So, this thing will only operate as long as the battery is charged well enough to get that glowplug red hot, correct? How long would it continuously run, and what size battery is required to carry it through let's say 24 hours of continuous operation?

Mostly, yes. Once the combustion process starts, the glow plug turns off and the combustion is self-sustaining. So current draw at ignition is about 12V and 10-12A depending on heater (Roughly 100W) and then goes down to 1-2A to sustain the fan...about (20-30W based on heat setting). A tank of fuel on low setting will run about 24 hours in my 5kW heater.

Okay that makes sense, glow plug is required just to get it started. Thanks for the intel.

Purchased Toyota Certified, with Vijay bumpers, additional lights, and Falken Wildpeaks on Fuel rims. Prev owner apparently painted the grill.
Fan and FUEL PUMP, but yes. I have one still new in box that I will get set up sometime - when I do I'll put a meter on it and monitor the current draw. "How long will it run?" is a question like "How long is a piece of string?" question. How big is your battery, how big is the fuel tank?

I bet that did look cool. I had a 74 Nova and I had a dog on the back dash and his eyes light up when the brakes were applied and the head bobbed up and down when driving.

Ya I bet. I'm going passenger side, there's a nice area to bolt to, but I have to get more 7AWG to extend it to the battery. Should be here tomorrow, then I'll know. Plus, I have extra subwoofer power supply on driver side making it even tighter.

You forgot to put the 2nd lock washer ring on under the nut and if the nut giggles loose, the switch is gonna fall out of reach. Also, is it on a fender or other location prone to weather? Well that’s not a waterproof switch - just saying. Get one that is coated and has a neoprene cover on it, else one day you’re not gonna be able to start your car because the switch is not going to work.
