I think the problem is just that everything eventually will have to be replaced. Truck is what 27 years old with pushing 300k miles, its inevitable at that point things are going to go wrong.

It can't be $0 maintenance forever, you just got into it as it entered a heavy maintenance window. I think you're nearly out of it, moving on to another car is gambling whether you'll be buying it in its maintenance window as well.

That's the main reason I find the argument that a switch to an LC or a pos corolla is somehow a better option questionable. They're all still just as old and have just as many miles, and its just a luck of the draw what might go out next.

But I'm probably a hypocrite since I also sold my BRZ bc I didn't want to spend the $1500 to put a new transmission in it, and spent a lot more than that on a different car instead.

To be fair you've mostly listened to opinions like mine up until now and it really hasn't worked out in your favor yet so idk

Sometimes you just have to trust your gut. That Corolla might look like a POS, but it starts up, runs and drives down the road, which is more than I can say for the Tacoma.

If I’d test driven the Tacoma instead of trading sight unseen, I would never have bought it. At least the initial issues were easy fixes and I got a year and a half of good use out of it.

Anyway if the truck was here I’d consider fixing it, but the $1200 shipping cost just to get it here makes it a tough pill to swallow. Time to cut losses I think.

Hopefully it’ll be a good truck for the person who was apparently wanting to buy it down there. My loss his gain and all that.

I mean all those places I listed besides Texas were fine. I want to live somewhere outside the salt and bible belts preferably.
They sound like very responsible pet/dog owners.

Pretty heavy discounts on Stellantis from what I've seen at my locals. About time that price gouging bit 'em. Can't remember last time I've seen new Wranglers under $30k. Rams $15-20K off.

Cause when you thought they couldn't be any less reliable, Stellantis proved you wrong

Their stock has steadily dropped throughout the entire year

And even with the rebates, the lots are collecting dust.
Be interesting to see what shakes out with a new CEO.
