I was emptying the drain so I could service the transaxle.

I'd say it has been awhile.

Not bad for 175k. It had a "Brand X" filter (aka: Chrysler ;) ) so maybe the original. :notsure:

Some good old kerosene cleaned it up a treat - and I do mean old, that kero has been in the parts washer since before @Delta09 was old enough to grow facial hair.

    KIMG4703.jpg

    Old filter:

    KIMG4698.jpg

It's held in by 2 screws and a press in seal, you kind of wiggle the filter out of the seal. The new seal is sitting on the pipe it mates with on the new filter here.

    KIMG4705.jpg

Naturally when you are trying to get the old filter out it comes loose abruptly, I wore it this time. :censored:

    KIMG4704.jpg

This is what goes in it:

    KIMG4701.jpg

And this is what I paid for 5 quarts at the dealership.

Next on the list of fun things to do was new coolant & radiator hoses.

"That's a heck of a hose you got there son." :muscleflexing:

    KIMG4706.jpg

That is the top hose, the bottom one is pretty average.

I can be called 'old school', but I agree the kerosene serves its duty as a cleaning agent better and cheaper than most of the stuffs selling in stores.

Morning crew, found out yesterday there's some sort of shut down coming, not sure if I'm part of that.
On other news they are asking if anyone would work overnight.
My answer is a firm NO! In the same sentence I was asked if you had to do it would you quit? YES!
I didn't feel it necessary to remind them that I still hold onto a CDL with endorsements.
Sooo might be looking for a new job. Time will tell.
Y'all have a great day and a fantastic weekend.

This is either going to be amazing or the start of a series of bad decisions today.

It did but it wasn't bad at all, busted headlight and dent in the hood. Nothing else was harmed.

It's been a good one! Insurance company sent a truck after it yesterday afternoon, I'll probably never see it again.

Made some rollers, put some inverted internal snap rings inside, drilled and tapped some grade 8 bolts for grease fittings, then installed some one way locking needle bearings after building the brackets for them. Kinda glad there were only 2 :D
