I picked it up around 34k, so i've put on just over 33k now
Based on my experience with my S1K going through the same thing about a year and a half ago, I'm gonna guess you'll need both a new stator and battery, along with a new rectifier. Hopefully not all 3 but that's what I had to replace. Glad you made it through unscathed though, that's scary for it to go out mid turn lol. When mine went, it shut off on the offramp just before I got to work, and once more as I was pulling into work. Got it to start once or twice more when I was about to head home but it wouldn't stay on, so I had to tow it back. Thankfully I have AAA

this is what my old one looked like after being pulled lol

    Looks familiar haha

Even if it's just the battery, next time I do the stator I will probably do the RR anyway too. I've heard going from the stock shunt to a series RR helps keep them alive longer. If I really cared, I'd change to the vented flywheel, too. Apparently they don't get enough oil to stay cool in this engine design and cook themselves to death.

Edit: I'm really thinking it's just the battery, though. The way it's dying super suddenly makes me think the BMS on it is starting to go and instantly cutting voltage to everything, rather than a slow drop in voltage like I'd expect. It has that "Re-Start" system and I think it's that that is acting up. Idk, more to come after I have a chance to dig into it.

what's the "re-start" system, i saw you mention that in a previous post as well? Never heard of it.

Basically a built-in jump starter? I guess is how I'd describe it? If it senses the draw draining the battery too low, it'll cut power output. You push a button on the battery OR apply a voltage to the battery (they sell a dongle that uses a 9v battery to "wake up" the battery through an SAE lead) and it reconnects the output. Basically prevents you from going below 11 or so volts, ever, and keeps a bit of reserve capacity to do an extra start or two.

    https://antigravitybatteries.com/restart-technology/

Theres a few different companies doing it now. I saw Optima has a powersports battery line with a wired remote to restart it: https://www.amazon.com/OPTIMA-QUAD12-ORANGETOP-Motorcycle-Jump-Start/dp/B0CNNPBHJC

It seemed when it was dying on me, that when I bumped it, it'd "wake-up" the battery, and I'd be good to go until it cut power again. Could be going below that reserve voltage, but nothing seemed to be dimming, so I don't know. It'll be easy enough to test stator output, running voltage, stator winding resistances, pre- and post- rectifier voltages, and rule out everything but the battery or find the culprit. Maybe half an hour with a multimeter tonight and I'll have my answers.

wow didn't even know that was a thing lol. been a while since I looked at batteries. seems pretty handy if it works reliably. keep us posted what you find, now i'm curious

Its a feature of the BMS system antigravity uses. If the BMS detects the battery going low it will stop depleting voltage and keep a reservoir for better or less terms. Hit the restart button and it is supposed to have enough to start the bike.

Ive seen complaints about the BMS going bad in them occasionally. Antigravity gets quite a bit of representation in the dirtbike world

Truly hoping it's just the BMS going bad in mine. If that's the case, I got six years of almost daily use in 8 degree up to 105+ degree weather. Six years is a damn good run in my opinion for those conditions.

Well this isn't what I expected..

Resistances metered out fine, but uh, zero voltage when running. Wonder why. Going to order up the stator and the gasket, and pray the R/R was spared. Battery was sitting at 13.1, charged up fine to 13.3 and held, so I think the BMS was actually protecting it when it was shutting down like it should have!

    Ugh.

On the bright side, we got our first thick coating of the white stuff tonight, nice and peaceful walk to the mailbox as it was coming down.

Right? Real weird. Never had insulation shit the bed so hard like that before. I have a few theories, but it'll all have to wait until I get a new stator in hand and can test the RR afterwards. I'm wondering if my summer blast across washington in 100 degree heat for 7 or 8 hours just cooked it hard, and now with the weather getting cold and dry it cracked apart. Either that, or did the RR go bad and just try to suck all the freaking current it could out of the stator and fry wires that way. Or did the stator ground and just heat everything up. Idk. We'll find out in a couple weeks.

Ordered parts last night, hopefully can work on it between Christmas and New Years.

Its not black or discolored in any fashion that I would expect with a burned wire. Looks like it just cracked/rubbed through maybe
