Tacoma OR brake booster convert to vaccum

I felt the same until I bled the brakes. There was a decent amount of air left in each corner from the factory. A liter or so of brake fluid later and the pedal feel was much better.

 

I also notice rear brake shoe adjustment has a big impact on pedal travel and feel.

Sell it and get a mall crawler, it would be insanely expensive to try and if successful would destroy resale value.

Hello guys, i think ima just try to get used to it since there is no other way to simply fix it. The brakes have a little vibration feel coming from the booster and it would do it every time i used the brakes but other than that the truck drives really good. Hopefully there is a fix soon because its really annoying driving in the city where I have to constantly brake and feel the vibration.

 

The brake booster is not likely the source of vibration. It’s more likely to be pad or rotor related.

I personally have no vibration at all during braking.

 

The brake pedal feels a lot like an old truck I used to have that didn't have power brakes at all in that there's none of that initial squishiness you get with a vacuum boosted system. Granted, it stops a lot better than that old truck

 

What tire? What wheels? What tire pressures? Did you buy what year Tacoma new or used? Any suspension mods?

You may feel a vibration or pulse in the pedal, but odds are very very low that it's booster related.

 

In every vehicle I’ve tried, switching to DOT 4LV or 5.1 improves feel. Especially in the winter.
