I'd like to run them as DRLs and turn signals. Please explain to me how to wire them, including the details of the wiring diagram. Thanks!

Tie into wire of turn signal, you get DRL and Turn, but as soon as low beams are selected you loose DRL on both.

So, if the low beams are selected, do both DRLs turn off? What about the fog lights? Do they turn on or stay off?

    Yes.
Fogs are a separate circuit unaffected by DRL circuit.

Is the wiring instruction below correct?

    1. Identify the 4 Colored Wires:
Red: Typically power supply (Fused IGN in this case).
    Black: Ground or negative terminal.
Blue: Likely connected to Left Turn select (-).
Yellow: Likely connected to Right Turn select (-).

    2. Wiring Instructions:
    Step 1: Fused IGN Power
Connect the red wire to Position 1 on 1L for fused IGN power.
This powers the relay system and enables pseudo-DRL functionality for the backlit fogs.

    Step 2: Left Turn Signal
Connect the blue wire to Position 5 on 1L.
This wire will trigger the relay for the Left Turn select (-).

    Step 3: Right Turn Signal
Connect the yellow wire to Position 6 on 1L.
This wire will trigger the relay for the Right Turn select (-).

    Step 4: Hazard Signal
Connect the black wire to Position 8 on 1L.
This wire will trigger the relay for the Hazard select.

    There is no BLACK wire.
You forgot to mention (add) the diode pairs required to isolate sides and circuits.

I know the colors change by year but the position have not on connector 1L.

    This be the correct one:

    upload_2024-12-13_11-51-46.png

Also works for those changing to LED turn signals and using the LED relay. Just uses the 1M, slots 1 & 11 from diodes AFTER relays.

So, this whole piece's connection terminal panel is located in which compartment? Or do I need to purchase it separately?

That's in every 2nd Gen Taco, it's the Main Body ECU (removed). The picture is showing where connectors 1L & 1M are. It's in the Cab, behind the driver's side lower dash.

DD sent me the harness with the fog lights, which has a red connector for the backlights (see below). Please verify if this is the correct way to connect the red connector to the backlight terminals.

    Correct.
You could even de-pin the Deutsch connector terminal and run a new wire from the diodes to the fog connector.

So, this wiring method will activate both the backlights (DRLs) and turn signals, WITHOUT the low beam selected, correct?

Correct and the bonus is, they won't turn off when low or high beams are selected. Unless you place a switch on the fused ign source.

I'm a little confused here because I don't see a label on the Main Body ECU (see below) indicating which terminal corresponds to 1M and 1L. Could you clarify? Thanks!

There are no labels. And the connectors are on the opposite side, facing the firewall.

If there are no labels (1M/1L) on the opposite side, then I'll need to spend more time researching that.
