It'd be interesting to hear a long term report from your kid after his time in one. I don't think any interest in them has faded, they just priced people out of 'em and many went upside down getting into one to look cool, now they're screwed and trying to flip. The Bronco certainly took a bit of a market bite, but how much of one I don't know. I don't dislike the brand, I just wish it were better and could figure out a way to elevate itself. They're a unique offering in the market with a long heritage, which, especially now when everything is homogenized and boring, is a good thing. They certainly have a cultural image that isn't the best depending on tastes, but lotsa manufacturers do. Jeep dudes, vaping GTI drivers, redneck diesel kids, senior citizen Lexus pilots, clapped out Hondas, etc etc. Just depends on the viewer. But imagine if a Jeep had the reliability of a Japanese vehicle and you could snag a new base version again for around 30. I'd love a little 2 door for the beach here, be super fun. Doubt it'll ever happen, but it'd be nice and help turn them around. Toyota certainly doesn't seem interested in making anything to compete.

Whatever the case, at least they aren't Jaguar right now.

Gonna have to move a lot further than you already did for that. Our country shit the bed on decent rail travel.
