I'm sure this is answered already in the forum somewhere....but I'm considering driving 8 hour round trip very soon - so I'd like to get solid confirmation from someone who knows....my son has a 98 tacoma single cab / standard cab with a regular bench seat. I've found a 60/40 split seat out of a 99 tacoma extended cab. Will the seat from the 99 fit in the 98 with little to no modifications?

    thank you

I am very familiar with the floor in an extra cab with bucket seats but have never had a single cab or bench seats or split bench seats to compare with.

It all depends on the shape of the floor and the mounting bolt locations. I would be very surprised if these configurations are all interchangeable.

I don’t see why not. I think the brackets are identical to the 50/50 buckets.

@Tour991 do you have any insight?

It 100% fits. You just need to drill out holes for the rear inside seat mounts. All the rest are there. I did this in 98 when I swapped in a split bench from an extra cab.
