I almost changed the oil! Might have been the 3rd or 4th time I have opened the hood since I bought it…in December of ‘21. Wow lots of metal under there but I think I found the filter. Learned the new one comes with o rings! Yea. Then I learned it wants 6qts!!!! I only bought the 5 jug. Glad I never pulled the plug… TBC

Get a Motivx adapter ... grips the filter housing at the strongest point: https://www.motivxtools.com

The o-ring on the side of the housing is what you need to watch for. The ring must fit into the groove on the side ... putting a coat of oil on the side where the o-ring brushes against the side when screwed in help to prevent the ring pulling out ... that is the greatest risk of causing a leak after install.

Fumoto valve replaces a simple plug ... hot oil will flow out like a bitch when a bolt is removed, but the Fumoto allows controlled release of the oil and attaching a tube to redirect the oil out-flow: https://www.fumotousa.com/cars-pickups-toyota-2022-tacoma-3-5l-v6

I got a shake in the steering wheel when on highway and tap or apply full brakes. Since my tires are less than 5k old, I'm going to get my rotors turned see if that eliminates shake. What do you guys reccomend, turning, or new rotors, at 69539 miles on truck?

I always buy new rotors because warped is warped.

My 3rd gen. 4runner went thru rotors like you wouldn't believe. Finally upgraded to 1st gen Tundra calipers and rotors. Much better.

I took the 33" BFG MT wheels/tires off and put on the 35" BFG AT wheels/tires. I removed the water tank, awning, and entire Yakima roof rack; then I removed all of the camping gear and replaced it with ski gear. Thus completing the transformation of my Tacoma from Summer camping mode to Winter skiing mode.

Finished a big project today. I never used the wireless charger so it’s gone, replaced with a voltmeter and a scan gauge. @Taxx 3d printed the mount, modified from his project. I installed the scan gauge and meter in the mount. Also installed footwell lights from Vled, a custom Molle panel on the center console, two usb plugs (one in the back seat center console and one in the driver’s center console), and added leds in the Molle panel. I have been working on it for about a month. I’m happy with the results.

    Thanks again @Taxx

If you like your VLED footwell lights, it is super easy to add puddle lights on the bottom or yours doors using a few more parts from VLED's website. I wrote that up here:

And BTW, nice use of that space in the center console!

I’ve always just had my rotors turned and with young drivers on mountain roads (and improper braking techniques) I had to do it often enough. In fact I’ve never replaced rotors and we always drive our cars well over 200k miles.
