I found a hungry local who does turning, was thinking if it cost under 25 each I would just give him a try to keep the economy local. I don't know, yet...

As long as they are above min machine to limit (you should have at least 0.030 above machine to, to turn the rotors), then just machine/turn them, they should only remove a max of about 0.025"/0.635mm, the shop will have the machine to limit if not already on the rotors... Best to replace the pads or scuff them down to knock off any glaze and "flatten them" out (you can do that by moving them over smooth pavement in a circle, like wax on wax off) .. make sure to clean and lube everything properly for the best results...

I used to catch a ride in a Kiowa to get to mountain top microwave sites in ROK. Sometimes a Cayuse. 36th Signal Battalion. Liked those WOs.
edit: Sorry for the sharp left turn. It was my first time away from home during Christmas.

I installed the driver's side of the Cali Raised console molle system and experimented with the Midland GMRS radio bracket. Will install the passenger's side today and try the bracket there as well to see which works best. Radio install is Monday. Photos when it's all completed.

Replaced the flimsy hood light switch that came with it. Had to drill the hole a bit bigger and an additional one for the stainless screw to fixate it. When the temps rise a bit (30F here), I will rewire the entire thing to make it look nice and dandy.

The last few rotors I bought weren't very good. You don't need to worry as much in FL but I would buy ones with a rust resistant coating. Maybe even OEM.

I had a terrible time with the pads for my RAV4, also. They were cast/machined very poorly. Ended up with Akebono and would seek them out for my Tacoma, also.

I only learned this at the track a few years ago; so might be helpful to some here. When the brakes are HOT form extended or hard use, and you come to a stop; keeping your foot on the brake while stopped will almost ALWAYS warp the rotors. The simple solution is to get your foot OFF the brake once you are stopped.

This is only necessary when the brakes are really HOT, so not all the time, but the explanation is that the rotors are cooling off when you stop, Except the potion of the rotor with the pads held tight to them, has considerable more heat contributed by the hot pads, and so the circumference of the rotor cools at a substaintial difference, enough to cause a warp. Getting your foot off the brake reduces the heat transfer from pad to rotor. This also probably helps to reduce pad transfer to the rotor which also feels like a warp. Again, only needed when the brakes are really hot, long downhill to a stop, Panic brake, Heavy load or towing, etc.

Assume you have similar; it looks like these do not turn off and on to the set temperature, but go from high to low; meaning in small space or warmer ambient, low will be more than needed and it will drive the room temperature up uncomfortably. Is this true, and can anyone recommend one that turns on and off too?

I really wanted to have a floor jack ready to go in my truck. I plan on doing more road trips in 2025. Installed a header rail and accessory brackets from Rago Fabrication. Found floor jack mounts on Amazon and just married the two. Used quick fists to hang the handle. The storage tote has the jack stands in them with other miscellaneous stuff.

When I upgraded my suspension the brake line bracket did not fit on the new leaf springs. I temporarily zip tied them and got around to Dremeling them out and reattached them today .
Also got a early Christmas present, a pair of Maxtrax! I think my wife just didn't want to have to wrap them. :D

Put some Black Friday parts on. Wheel covers , remote bed lock and found mounting brackets for my old bed extender all on the Toyota 25% off Black Friday deal. Think I’m most stoked about using the bed extender in the flipped position for golf clubs and smaller items. So nice that the 2010 model fits a ‘22.

Maybe tire shop overtorqued lugs warping the rotors. Said they’re only 5k old.
