Wife gave me a 3D printer as an early Christmas gift. Been running it around the clock making various things, but only one truck thing so far. Relocated my CB radio into the dash (posted that here a week or so ago), which opened back up the cubby in front of the cupholders. Decided to make an insert that would allow me to turn it into a wireless charging pad (inspired by a family members Mercedes with a similar feature) Original design filled the entire cubby, but then I realized I wouldn't have room for running the wires, so I shrunk down 3 of the 4 sides.

Auto trans fluid service at 190k, unknown if the PO ever did it before 140k. Dropped the pan, cleaned the magnets and replaced the filter/strainer. Old fluid was def quite dirty in color and a bit smelly but there wasn't too much metal dust on the magnets. Filled it back up with the same amount of WS fluid and was pleasantly surprised that it seems to be shifting a bit smoother even though I hadn't noticed it being rough. Going to do 2 more drain and fills a couple hundred miles apart and do the temp check method on the last to make sure the level is good.

Make sure to account for the thickness of the charging pad and any phone cases in the corners. My son in law printed one for me and he had to redo it to make the corners taller to accommodate the charging pad and my case.

the white part that i printed is just a platform, and then i placed a wireless charger that i purchased on top of it. i wasn't actually designing an entire wireless charger. just needed to fill the void to hold one up an route some wires. the black charger in the last photo is from Amazon, not a printed part. works great.

I know 350k (hit 347k this week) is still “young” in the lifespan of a 2nd Gen, there has been a lot of work to catch up to years of minimal attention. As 2024 wraps up, it’s like driving a brand new truck.

Huge THANK YOU to @DOUBLLD for everything you see below. Even if he didn’t do it, he had an hand in it… All the education / advice on the little things is always much appreciated.

I’m excited for what’s coming next in 2025 and beyond! Very much looking forward to driving this for another 20 years!

that aux fuse panel is set up clean. ive got the dual battery kit from genesis off road im waiting to install, i wonder if this mount you used would get in the way of the dual batteries. could be a clean option for me to mount all my relays and everything instead of a bunch of zip tied wiring harneses.

I was driving next to a cyber truck on the freeway this morning for like 45mins or so. We were next to one another almost the whole drive. I have to say, those automobiles are so awkward looking. I would choose my Tacoma over one of those every time. Especially if my truck looked like yours.
