My daily turned a milestone today. All maintenance is up to date. Put on a new serpentine belt today. Bought this new in June of 2012.

FWIW - recommends depend on your driving conditions. Me, I like snow handling, at the expense of some wet, and of the all weathers out there, the CC2s do the best in snow. Take a look at this (or their website, they'll let you repriortize what's important to you).

Ours has Continentals..the originals were dry rotted when we bought it and they threw in 4 new tires, she drives less than 10K a yr. Held up fine for the 5 yrs since so much we got the same thing this year again..

Did the Christmas tree recycling for the scout troop, decided not to take the truck, and did most of the miles in EV mode. Plenty of power to haul around a bunch of trees.

I might find a more accurate thread, but this looked like a good place to start. Looking at 1st cars for our daughter and Rav4s are near the top, likely a late 4th gen. I realize we're all Toy fanboys(and girls) but what's considered high mileage on a Rav4? I can do the math on age based mileage and used cars are a crapshoot, but all things being equal is there a point the reliability falls off? 150k still have some life?

FWIW my wife's 2005 we bought in 2008 with 60K ran up to 170K, no major repairs and running gear was still solid. Just found her another one she fell in love with and were in a good position to do so, which is her current 2014..bought at 15k, now 65K and no issues. Tires are all I've had to put on there. Never thought she'd love a SUV but after her 96 Tacoma was bought back she drove the 2005 Rav and right there put a deposit on it.

I'd feel confident with 200K on the Rav based on our experiences.

Plan on keeping ours as long as possible regardless of mileage.

120K miles on the 2014 RAV4 here. I need to change plugs and the PCV valve, just based on mileage.
We had to replace TPMS sensors 10K miles ago, they died after 9 years. No abnormal expenses otherwise. Oil changes, ATF serviced 2x. I expect it to go to 200K before we pass it to out daughter.

Use this site to pull dealer service history, based on VIN.
    https://www.toyota.com/owners/vehicle-dashboard/

I add all of service I do myself on my 2 Toyotas to that site also. Makes it easier to see what I did when.

Wifes 2017 Rav4 hybrid 51,000 miles has a weird brief notchy feeling in the steering wheel while driving. It's like it catches just for a second and then releases it feels normal, smooth again. Almost like stuck in a notch and then it releases.
Did the typical Google search, 1- check battery, it's reading ok at idle and off on the meter. Fairly new, maybe 18m replaced w/OEM battery
2- crawled under and looked for obvious signs of leaks, loose, damage but looks all good and dry. Noth
3- Other owners in line have taken to dealer and they say it's a steering column issue and needed complete replacement.
Anyone else with similar issue? Do these have electric steering racks? Is it all 1 piece with the column? The wife is nervous. I have no idea with the hybrid stuff.
Sounds a like a cple $k if gotta go dealer.
